I know that on a putt there has been debate on taking the putter straight back or not. On a chip or pitch with your stance a little open, do you take it straight back, or do you rotate the club like a normal swing?

Not really a debate on the putter -- depends on your stance -- if you look like Michelle Wie with your back parallel to the ground, the putter goes straight back for a short stretch.

If you stand to the side of the ball in a more upright stance, the putter will naturally follow an arc. You want the putter to remain square to the arc.

Anything else is manipulation.

Chip/Pitch - my forearms are on my chest and my arms try to remain somewhat passive. Make sure the arms do not get trapped behind you.
