Got the chance to play this golf course by getting reciprocity through my course.  This is a private golf club, but not a Country Club.  I think they have 200 members and a small restaurant/bar.

What a fantastic Fazio design.  This may be my new favorite course that I have played in Virginia.  River Bend Country Club and The Federal Club not withstanding, which are both very very nice.  Haven't yet played Kinloch.

The fairways were immaculate and the greens, even though they had been punched within the last couple of days, rolled very well.

The practice range along with the putting and short game range were top notch.

There are no tee times, we showed up at 7 am and were the first group off at 7:30 am.  The assistant pro Rick met us at my car and took my bag.  He was Johnny on the spot, very nice to the Asst. Pro taking care of you.

He explained the course and gave us a few tips on how to play a couple of the more unique holes.  The landing areas for most holes were generous, the traps were placed to get you to play away from the shorter second shot, but it was a very fair test of golf.

Favorite hole was the 12th

Only 362 Yds from the Blue tees, but a really tough driving hole and then a raised green where any short ball will not make it to the green.

The 18th hole was also a very nice hole.

We ended up playing in 3 hours, we didn't see anyone on the front 9 and never say another golfer until we made the turn and there were some ladies practicing on the range.  A group of 3 players jumped in behind us after we made the turn, but after a couple of holes we never saw them again,

Just a gorgeous course, if you can ever play this course, I would highly recommend it.

      Day 237 (26 Dec 24) - played 18 with niece and her husband at one of the local courses.  We were first out - so we pretty had our own pace of play.  First few holes were a struggle, but the groove started by hole 5.  The green side wedge game kicked in - had several kick in up and down pars.  Best of the day - had my first ever sandie birdie on #9. It’s a neat par three with a pot hole bunker - found it off the tee.  Had about a 22yd shot from the bunker to the flag.  Hit an easy shot out with the 54 that hit softly and gently rolled center cup.  Had several other close wedge shots into others that were close but no hole out.  Was a great day with the green side wedge game - and seeing solid fruit from the drills.

      Day 16: 12/26/2025 A little more mirror work today. Then out to the garage net.  The first part of my PPJ swing thought is really starting to stick. The J still takes some focus. Plus, I'm still putting a priority on getting all the way to my finish.
