sioutdoors Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Absolutely horrid putting today 7 -3 puts 8 -2 puts 3 -1 puts. Had a glimmer of hope on #2 par 5 527 ,driver ,5 wood 3 put par and then the work began#3 par 4 421 3 wood to 150 PW 3 put bogey #4 156 par 3 PW GIR 3 put bogey. #9 driver chip out of woods with 5 iron left side of fair way needed to hit a little hooded 7 to stay low, well i stayed low enough to hit a yardage post them PW to green 2 put. So far for the front its 13 puts 3 Fairways 2 GIR and 1 UGIR = 47 OK back side # 12 (brace you're self) 166 par 3 some how avoided the water with a good bounce got a hard Pan lie and chunked it in to the water, drop, pitch and HEY another 3 put 7 +4. Add another 3 put double bogey on 18 and that makes it 50 puts 3 Fairways 4 GIR 1 UGIR all that equals an astonishing 97 THANK YOU VERY MUCH (for nothing) rend lake golf course. I think its lessons for the rest of the summer, they cost about the same. TheChern06 Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Shot a solid 77 or 6 over par. Had 2 doubles today because I was to agreesive. On the last 4 holes I hit 4 iron off the tee to ensure I would break 80.
LarryK Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 88 today. Nothing special about that, but I had two all-time firsts. Historic moment #1: Par 3 8th, 130 yards fronted by a huge pond. Two balls into the water and I'm laying four and well onto my way to my first ever snowman on a par 3. Don't think I have ever done that since I was shooting 100-stroke rounds and was proud of it. I might have, but I don't think so. Sheer agony. Historic moment #2: So, thoroughly cheered by my invective-laced putrid front nine 49, I naturally go out and shoot a three-over back nine of 39. Five of seven fairways, five GIRs and 16 putts. I've never carded a 39 for nine holes in my life. As someone once said, "It was the best times and it was the worst of times." cmay119 Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 I only played nine today, as I started forming a blister on my left hand near the heal below the pinky. This was on hole 8 I started forming the blister and started getting real uncomfortable on hole 9. However, I still toughed it out through hole 9 and ended up shooting 41 on the day because of some bad putting. 3 putted 3 holes which I was pretty unhappy about. I'm gonna play again in the after noon tommorow. I'll be on the putting green for atleast an hour working out the kinks in my stroke. :) Driver: 907 D2 10.5 - Diamana Blue 65 Shaft 3-Wood: 906 F4 15.5 - Graphite Design YS-6+ Shaft5-Wood: 906 F4 18.5 - Diamana Blue 75 ShaftIrons: Rac TP CB Irons; 5.0 Flighted Rifle Shafts, 1 degree flat. ragontona Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Shot a 93 at Augustine Golf Club on Friday. Ugly, ugly round -- sideways all day long off the tee, quite a few chunked attempts out of the rough, and lots of yanks on approaches to the green. I was obviously getting more and more pumped full of adrenaline (the bad kind) as the day went on, and couldn't get out of my own way. Unfortunately, I wasted a fantastic putting day (30 putts) on the greens hacking it around the rest of the course. I only hit five fairways, and even worse, only two GIRs. I need to settle this stuff down real quick-like. Handicap's gone up three strokes just this year. "I played like shit." -Greg Norman after the '96 Masters.
cmay119 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Odd place for a blister, no? I've never had one near my pinky... Hmm. My thumb usually gets them, if anything. Right under the knuckle. I guess I should've been more descriptive with where my blister was located. It's down on the palm of the hand about mid-way down, on the pinky side of my left hand. That location is where most of my glove wear happens as well. It still might be an odd place for a blister, I just wanted to be more descriptive to make sure you knew where I had it. Anyways, I just threw a band aid over it and wen't out and played again today (9-holes again). I shot a 44 today as the blister was still aggrevating my hand a little bit. Also, putting was a little off again as well. I'm gonna have to work on that some more. SheriffBooth Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Had a 2-under 38-32-70 yesterday - my first under par round of 2006. Also had my shot of the year so far - on the 1st (my tenth since we started on 10), par 5, drove it a little left and got behind a pine; punched a 4-iron to 120 and holed out with a gap wedge for eagle. Pretty sweet, backed up about 8 feet into the jar. Administrator iacas Posted July 4, 2006 Author Administrator Posted July 4, 2006 Shot 77 today: 41-36. Was all over the map on the front, then hit eight greens in regulation on the back and couldn't buy a putt. The only one I made was a three-footer on 17, and even that lipped in. So frustrating to score badly and hit so many decent shots to fairways and greens and not convert. I was right there today with every putt, too. It's not like my putting is bad. Erik J. StreakyPete Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I played at Prestwick St Nicholas a couple of weeks ago in a senior's competition. I didn't score particularly well (even tho' I was striking reasonably well), however, my 72 year old playing partner, and eventual winner beat his age by 6 strokes! He wasn't doing anything fancy, just batted it down the middle very consistently, knocked em up on the green and didn't waste any shots with his putts. He came back in 32 shots on a pretty tough, windy links course! He claimed he owed it all to getting a Leadbetter 'Swingsetter' over the winter. Naturally, I went straight out and bought one!!!

scottishgolfer121 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I played at the tough St Andrews Old Course, nice day not much win, but the rough was killer making my way 2 17 tee, when i look around and the short 16th was helped by wind and the player behind me stuck it on the green and in the hole, i made par, and 17 made par and the 18th made a good 3 which i shot a good 69

Administrator iacas Posted July 5, 2006 Author Administrator Posted July 5, 2006 Played a relative dog track (eh, so so) called North Hills today. Shot 74 (+3) which worked out to a 4.0 index (-0.1). But... I had only 12 putts on the front (only one birdie) and only 26 total. Hit the ball like crap all day. Got up and down from 100+ yards a few times, though. Have gotten too close to the ball. Need to back up a little bit. Erik J. Barzeski — ⛳ I knock a ball.
