Shot a 73 today (blacks at LV). Wasn't hitting the ball very well at all, but putted the eyes out of it (Z Factor!). 24 putts today.

Yanked a ball left on 16 for a lost ball, and birdied with my second. Only hit 4/14 fairways, 44% GIR, and scrambled 7/10 times, including a holing a 26-foot and a 12-foot putt after hitting from the sand.

Scorecard is here .

Shot 82 (42-40) in which driver and putting was decent, but couldn't hit a green or get up and down for pars. I did have a couple of birdies including a chip in from 25 feet.

Shot 78 today (6 over) played quite well to be honest, greens were lumpy and bumpy (condition of the greens was embarrassing) and on smooth greens at least 4 putts would of dropped that didn't. It was not a bad score though as I came third gross out of 120 people with 3 over winning.

MY WEEKEND IS RUINED!

Was supposed to play 9 holes at my club today, but my first playing partner bailed on me, and then my second bailed on me. I would go by myself to get paired up, but my parents arent home to give me a ride, So I would have to ride a 45 min bike ride against the wind with my clubs on my back..

I am so dissapointed right now I was looking forward to this all weekend.

Saturday - pairs inter-club knockout match, which we won 2&1 (team won 4-1).
Sunday - singles match that went to the last hole. Windy, cold and occasional showers so net 72 wasn't too bad - except for losing, 1 down. We were talking about the match afterwards and in particular a shot I did because it was a laugh. I was under a chestnut tree, about 8-10 feet inside the canopy so i couldn't do a flop onto the green, which was just over a pond - guess about 25 yards away. I attempted a low skidder, with lots of spin - and messed up! It headed for the water, bounced once, twice, hit the bank, collected a big lump of mud and rolled awkwardly onto the green, coming to rest about three feet from the flag.

As I was describing it, I looked at my card...and realised I'd marked the hole down as a half, when I'd won it. So I'd thrown away the match - we'd actually finished all-square and should have gone on to sudden death.

Oh, b*gg*r.

Always next year, eh?

Yesterday morning was as beautiful a day as we've had here all year, started a bit cool in the low 60s but rose to the mid 70s by 11a.m., with very little wind. Peaceful, sunny and splendid. I shot 88, without one green in regulation. I drove 11 fairways. When I put myself in position to hit greens with my second shot, I was often to the left or the right of the green. Need to work on my mid game and my short game; with improvement there, I could shave 5 or 6 strokes, without a doubt.

Last year I would have been happy with yesterday's 83 but oh so disappointed yesterday. 5 doubles on the back killed. The thing that really bites is if you look back at my last 30 rounds 28 I shot lower on the back then the front......I just got ahead of myself and really tanked it.

On the good side is I don't think I'm gonna be a 15 much longer.
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

41 on the back of my course... Missed 2 par putts and 2 birdie putts. Really think I could've pulled together a better round. I was staying somewhat consistent with only a few mishits. Needed a 52 degree wedge twice... ended up overshooting the green, im going to buy one this weekend. Overall not too bad... hit the ball solid.

    • Day 217 (5 Dec 24) - Thurs 9-hole round with my good friend.  Weather is in the upper 50’s. - so the body was a little more limber.  Played the next tees up with the TA 845s Silver Scots (3i-SW) along with TM R580 driver and 5w.  Shot a very solid 39 (3 bogies that should have been pars).  Solid round of better ball striking - man those 845s still have it…
    • Here's my current 6 iron swing. There are a few things I see that make me cringe. I will say the swing is pretty playable right now. I'm mostly hitting it well lately. (in terms of results).    Here's caddie view. Again, I have stuff to work on, but this swing is pretty effective in letting me get around the golf course.
    • Just an FYI, this has been tried by nearly every major sport at one time or another. Its surprisingly difficult and expensive for the sport to deal with.  I'm not sure that is necessarily a problem. Within a short driver of where I live there are tons of lesser events, semi-pro, corn-ferry, even college or high-school events I can and have taken my son and daughter to, in order to help them catch a bug for the game. We've all had a great time attending them. Plus we could leave early and not feel bad when the 10-year-old attention span starts to wain. ... although unfortunately no bugs for the game have been caught so far. 😢   As a consumer you could always refuse to buy from stubhub, etc.... If everyone did that it would put the secondary sellers out of business.  I say that as a complete hypocrite, as I have used stubhub more than once to get tickets to events. I paid over face value for the tickets but not that much over face value. Plus, Stubhub actually had fewer added fees than did the original seller, which narrowed the gap between what I paid and what I would have paid from original seller. (I assume the original seller waives such fees for the likes of Stubhub)

    • That's not relevant. If they wanted to sell 50k tickets, they still managed to do that. The tickets will get used, so that's as "widespread" as they wanted. Dropping the price to still sell the same number of tickets would be dumb. Again, it's not like the tickets won't get used, and the way to reduce the # of tickets on stubhub, etc. is to price them where secondary ticket resellers don't see a lot of value. If the tickets were $1M, no secondary ticket resellers would buy it. If they were $1, they'd buy as many as they could. That's an order of magnitude more complicated. And, again, if you price them appropriately, you can sell out while minimizing the value seen by secondary ticket resellers, while keeping it simple. Stuff like that sounds good until you scratch a few atoms off the top. Scratch a few atoms off the top man.
