Trying to lob the ball softly with delicate touch is difficult for me when I am faced with a tight pin with little green to work with.  I rather run the ball if I can. Lately I been develop some 'touch" by reverse rolling my forearm for those delicate short sided shots and its be working. Unfortunely I have hands of stone and and not the fine touch some people have.

How about with bunkers? Aren't they a bit more costly as far as being short-sided? If so, where's the approximate risk / reward line?

I think its easier for a shorter bunker say inside 15 yards than a longer bunker shot  that is short sided.

Reason for me is that sand takes some of the energy away for the lob shot so most greenside bunkers I seen play well land shot and rolls out gently.

The longer ones say more than 25  yards have to be played with a longer swing and firmer contact with the sand and a  flop

Your technique is lacking.

I've not yet met the person who has good technique but no touch or "hands of stone."

    • I got scammed one time on FBM so I don’t trust it.
    • Yeah I’ve tried it but I don’t feel very comfortable doing it like that. Isn’t there like a website where I can do it so it’s safer??
    • Day 200 3-4 Wider back swing, arms up a bit higher, and added in some flow work to start getting a since of a full swing. Still focusing on arching wrist through downswing.
    • It's going to be very difficult for the 2026 Masters to match the 2025 edition for storyline. I honestly don't know that anyone else in the field could match the story of Rory finally winning after so many years and the blow ups over the years, not to mention the career slam being completed. No one this year that I can think of is remotely close to that kind of story. Combine that with the attempts at blow ups last year (Double on the 1st, 13, 18 on first try) and the stunningly good shots that he hit in the final round (7, 15, 17, 18 on second try).  Full gamut: https://www.masters.com/en_US/watch/2025-04-13/17445961638226475/every_single_shot_from_rory_mcilroys_final_round.html
