Just curious how the FT-i compares to the Sasquatch 2.. I almost got the sasquatch but the noise was just unbearable so I didn't get it..

I have demoed both clubs and the FT-i felt a lot more solid to me. They both have piercing noise, so if that is one of the criteria you have for a club then I am not sure either of these are acceptable.

There are a couple of tour players for both so I suppose they can't be that bad.

I am currently bidding on an FT-i on ebay right now. Do you guys recommend it for a beginner. I have been using my friends Taylormade, but recently started duck-hooking (is that right, when the ball goes about 75yds and screeches to the left?) due to some speed problems.

I recently used my friends Nike SQ (reg. head), and I hit it so far and straight that I beat one of my buddies with a 95... He's been playing golf for 12 years, I have been playing for 6 months. This was on a TPC course here in Louisana, and I was using his driver.

Anyhow I wanted to make clear that I do not mind shelling some money for a quality driver without testing it. I know I need a 10-10.5* Stiff (from a previous driver fitting), so everything else should work itself out..right?

So the question was, do you think the FT-i would be a good club for a beginner who can drive it straight 40% of the time?

I tried the Sumo2 and the FT-i tour... Definitely liked the FT-i better... Although if the sound is the problem they're both about the same.

The FT-i is supposed to promote a straighter ball fligh than a conventional head driver... But, if your clubface is open at impact it's still going to slice. I can say that I didn't notice a difference in shot shapes between my Burner and the FT-i tour... Sliced a couple with each..... It's all about confidence....

I currently play the FT-i and absolutely love the club. I get a lot of crap about playing a square driver but then I just laugh at them when they are in the rough and I am in the fairway. The clubs is noticeable straighter for me but just isnt any straighter for some others from what I have read and heard. I had a hard time getting use to the odd look and feel but the straightness makes up for it.

FT-i

Is better for high and low handicap players. the noise is ok, Nike is way to loud.

I will currently recoment the FT-i to every one

I tried the Ft-i just for fun, although its nowhere near a driver for me (Im 16) and I find its more of a seniors forgiving driver. It doesn't seem to go very far and It is really forgiving on mis-hits. It almost seems "too easy" to hit.

I use the FT-I and it is very forgiving, you will get a decent drive out of it almost every time. To get any real distance you have to hit it in the sweet spot, when you do hit it perfect then it goes just as far as any other driver. The problem is that you can't really tell when you hit it good or not from the feedback of the club. You think you really nailed one only to find out it's 230 instead of 280, or you think it's only 230 and it goes 280. I've hit quite a few monster drives that suprised me, and quite a few short drives that I thought were monsters.

For you, a rightie, thats a slice.

Is the sound on the Nike that bad to you guys. For some reason I like it I feel like I will be buying a new driver soon though so I'm definitely demoing these two drivers soon.

I own neither, but demo'd both a few months back.

I didn't like the Sumo at all. . .no surprise. I've yet to find a Nike club I like. I like everything else from Nike though, go figure.

I definitely liked the FT-i quite a bit. Wish I had the money back then to buy one. It was easy to hit, felt very solid and I struck the ball well with it.

Ummm....If he is a rightie, and he said the ball screeches to the LEFT....its a duck hook, not a slice.

I have hit both the Sasquatch and the FT-i (although I hit the tour low cg version) and the ft-i was longer by a longshot. I actually realy enjoyed hittng this club. It was almost too straight...
