How sad. He was one of those fearless artists. Truly stretching the boundaries always, but unlike a lot of other fringe experimenters, he brought unforgettable melodies to the table. On this night, there IS a Star Man waiting in the sky, and he is watching...

Ah yes... So, I assume the Epi was all white, right. And, you may remember this little known classic solo effort that Bowie helped him produce....

Yeah, I liked Ronson's solo work, too - I remember that track. The romantic in me would like to hope that Ronno and Bowie are somewhere playing music together, again.

btw, I think Ronno's LP Custom was an ebony finish - from memory it was a 1968, the year Gibson reintroduced it, (I once had a guitar teacher with one from that year). There was that great fad, it seems, in the late '60s and early '70s for stripping guitar tops (as per Lennon's Epiphone Casino). If I ever buy a Gibson LP Custom I couldn't bring myself to do that to it! But, like I said, a used Epi LP Custom will make for a fun, Ronson project - maybe next winter!

I haven't listened to him much, but I appreciate what he's done and I know he's been influential to a lot of music that I like (rock, prog rock). Everyone dies at some point, but it's sad when it's because of cancer.

Truly one of the greatest artists there was.

When I saw Bowie in concert back in 1972, Ronson ended the concert by launching his white LP across the stage. It slid across the stage and slammed into a stack of amplifiers. All I can remember was cringing. But, that was a time when Pete Townsend was regularly destroying SGs.... But not to digress from the topic... Bowie was absolutely fabulous in that concert. A memorable event that I will not forget. He will missed. Thanks for all the great music, David.

    • Patrick Cantlay's strokes gained from 2024: I wonder if he takes more time on approach shots given that was the worst part of his game last season. And then here are his 2023 stats: Much better ball striking season. I wonder if there are any differences in his times between these two seasons. I tend to think he's just slow in general, but it'd be interesting to see his time differences.
    • Not sure, I think players have their own pace. Speith was always slow, regardless if he was in contention or not. Well, more so when he was in contention. It might be a push there on that question.
    • Without knowing the study at all, this could be more of a reflection of who is tournament ready and who isn't. If you have a quick trigger, it could mean your swing is working really well. Fidgeting, lots of rehearsals, maybe means your swing's not functioning as well as you'd like it to and you need more time to feel it all out before you hit your shot.
    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
    • I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
