spinniest ball

What do you think it is? i have really been looking for a ball taht helps me spin, as ive tried some,a dn some spin,a nd others dont, but, witht eh christmas season, my parents are gonna buy me a pack of my choice! so, in you humble opinion, what ball spins the most?

I have always been told two things about spinning balls:

1) The softer the ball covering, the easier to spin
2) Don't bother trying to control a soft ball until the rest of your game is solid.


That said, I have a friend who is a scratch golfer. He swears by the Wilson 50/50 for ball control (spin) and distance.

First, you're probably going to get a different answer from everybody, but they'll probably be one of a few different balls coming up over and over again.

For the premium balls, I'd say, Taylor made TP Red, Titleist Pro v1, Nike one platinum and one of the srixon Z-UR (not sure which one), the Callaway HXTour.56 or the bridgestones B330s. In no particular order.

There are other 'spinny' two piece balls, which would be a little cheaper, but I couldn't give names, possably the Pinnacle exception or something the like...

yea, i mean, i can get the ball to like, hop once or twice, and then stop, so im looking for somthing that is spinny..its not like i dont know how to spin...

greatest ball i used for spin was the callaway blue, but i dont think you can get them anymore.

uMM well probably the Pro-V1 is the most spinniest, and the price reflects that.

I think the B330S spins the most.

The Callaway HX Tour 56 in my opinion is like crazy spin. I only like them on hard crusty greens.

There is a new course around here called Shale Creek. The greens are only a year old and hard as a rock.

The HX came in very handy on them. I would hit a high iron and it would take one hop and stop.

I think getting the ball to hop once or twice and stop is ideal. You can become more consistent that way. When you hit a "super spin" ball, you never know how much it will spin on a given shot. You might hit a shot into the green pin high and then the ball spins back 20 feet or play it to spin back and the ball just sits. IMO, if you can get a ball to sit after one hop, then you can consistently fire at pins because you know how the ball will react on the green.

Why not, the ball is an important piece in the fitting process.

Price is more reflective of the manufacturing process and marketing costs. Titleist can charge $60 if they want to, just because it costs more doesn't mean if the nest ball for you. Actually for many people the Pro-V1X actually spins more than the Pro-V1 because people will not compress the core.

The amount of spin is going to vary from person to person and club to club. Choosing a ball is as individual as getting fit for clubs.

My recommendation, take several sleeves and try them out on the course. Chipping, half shots, full shots, drives, etc. You'll be surprised that the most expensive ball isn't always the best choice. Sometimes it is though
