No. Not really.

You fade the ball because the clubface (or gear effect) produce a tilted spin axis.

Can you elaborate on this?  Not sure what you mean exactly.  Thanks!

I'm not sure what you want me to elaborate on.

Your impact conditions are different. Unless the CG moved dramatically toward the toe (so a centered contact would act more like a heel hit), that's the answer: you're presenting different impact conditions than you were before.

So you think it's more my swing than the driver being altered?  I guess I am just curious because I can't get any other club to fade like this driver does now.

I am working on changing my swing with @sk golf so maybe the changes are getting rid of my dramatic overdraw and I am just noticing it more on the driver than any other club.

A golf ball hit on the center of the clubface with a path right of the face will draw.

If you're fading, you're either looking at gear effect or impact conditions. A club does not just "fade" on its own. Something is leaving the face right of the path or leading to heel-like gear effect.

Gotcha.

I need to get it out of my head that an inside to outside swing path will automatically create a draw. I know thats not right.

I will look at the face at impact and see if I can change that.  It's an adjustable driver so maybe it was replaced wrong and I need to fix that.  I noticed it was difficult to get the head to go back into the marked settings on the club. They all seemed to be about 15 degrees off.

Thanks for the replies!

Maybe you could just re-grip the club with the markings pointed where you like them?

I basically have shot patterns H and I right now.  Where it is normally G.

Yeah, I am gonna go to the range and check my impact position, maybe get some foot spray to apply to the club face, and make sure it's not causing the problem.  If am hitting it in the center or toe and still producing a fade I will know its a face right of the path problem.

If it's a face path problem, then I will change the settings to get it back to my normal draw pattern.
If that requires a re-grip I will do that next.

Usually, a heel hit is more prone to fade and toe is more of a draw.

For clarity, I'm posting the ball flight laws. . .

Exactly, which is why if I am hitting one off the toe and still getting a fade I will know something is up.

My normal ball flight starts out right and draws back.  The blue lines. But with the repaired driver I either hit a huge block or fade.  Since the ball isn't starting out left and then fading back right I don't think its gear effect.

The only thing I can think of is that they didn't put the head on the shaft correctly. If you're hitting your old driver with your draw, and now this one is suddenly slicing maybe the shaft isn't straight into the club head? It's the only thing I can think of.

Yeah I think they didn't put it on correctly.  Almost wonder if they put it on backwards.

I tweaked the settings and got it closer again, but still not perfect.

I used some food powder and was still fading some shots with a center impact.

    • Day 40: short range session. Worked on my drill mostly. Finished with some full swings and driver swings. Range was packed because it was so nice out. Solid session though.
    • Day 5, 1/3/26.  Today was a weird day schedule-wise, but I did find 15 minutes to hit 6-iron shots (indoors, off a mat, into a net).  I also got to thinking about yesterday's round and, other than a few thin shots (that I think were weather/grip related), I didn't have any wild non-driver shots, which was weird for me.  I need to get back to video, which is tough in my setup. Also, this wouldn't count on its own, but anyone reading this and thinking about doing their own 5 minutes daily, check out Fit for Golf's latest podcast episode.  It's only a few minutes and Mike does a great job talking about the importance of doing a bit each day.  That also reminded me, I let my FFG subscription lapse, I'm going to renew it.
    • Day 32 (3 Jan 26) - Misty, rainy day - opted to rehearse swing in the mirror - focused on face position at P6 thru P9.
    • Day 460 - 2026-01-03 Set up GEARS Hybrid for a lesson, so used it in the morning for checking a few things from yesterday.
    • Day 14 - 2026-01-03 Mat and net work, focusing again on trail body parts. Ready for the ranges around here to open again.
