So I just started and was given a set of clubs my grandfather built for my grandmother in the late nineties/early 2000's I'm assuming. Using her hand me downs because we're both leftys. Though I as of an hour ago just picked up 5 Taylormade clubs (driver, woods, hybrids)

Driver: Stilleto II 10.5 ladies flex/ Taylormade Jetspeed 10.5 reg flex

Woods: Knight Billy Club 5 Wood reg flex / Taylormade Jetspeed 3&5 woods reg flex

Irons: 4-SW (no PW) Ping knock off eye 3 model III pro tours pro way graphite shafts reg flex and golf pride grips. Taylormade 3&4 Hybrids reg flex

Putter: Ping Anser 3 with Lamakin grip

I am home on leave currently, and I won't be able to fly back to Augusta with my hand me down clubs with is why I got the TM clubs. I already have my eyes on a Oddessy putter, but would like some insight on buying a set of used GI left irons for around $100-180. Went to the range today and was having issues with contact and not going as high and straight. Where I work I get free pro lessons every Saturday morning and will taking advantage of that but I would also like clubs that are pretty forgiving as well. So far these are what I've been looking at:

TM Rocketbladez

mizuno mx200

TM Burner HT

Adams Idea a12OS 5-pw

I was able to get a good deal on the TM woods/driver/hybrids ($175) so I have a little wiggle room.

I've played Mizuno's in the past and they are quality irons. I would choose them from the list you provided.

I have heard a lot of great things about the Mizunos which is why I'm considering 'em, but the only reservations I'm having is that they say the condition of these clubs are around a 7/10, where as the others are pretty good condition wise if not new.

Also would going with the Mizunos be a better option than going with a company like gigagolf where I can pick the shafts and grips out the gate?

If i could I'd use the clubs you have

Put the jetspeed driver, 4H, 5i, 7i, 9i, sw and putter in a sunday bag and play walking in the afternoons till i really felt the need for more clubs.

Take advantage of the lessons, feel free to ask your instructor if this is a bad move.

Hopefully it will be slow so you can play more than one ball.

If you are a beginner that is more than you can figure out how to use, I know it was for me.

The only issue is that the hand me down clubs are currently at home in Tampa, and the Taylormades are here now with me in Augusta; so as of now on hand I have a 3/4H,3/5W, and a driver. Getting a set of irons would solve this issue, I just don't know which direction to go as far as type.

Your budget is $100-$180 right? I'm not trying to be pusher... but check these out...

Yes, they are left handed. It would probably take a day maybe two to get to you. These are a 2015 model...

Hmmm haven't actually gave any thought to the TourEdge's yet, but they do look pretty nice! I'd like $100-180 though I'd be willing to go slightly higher I'm sure.

Also I found a set of Ping G10s 4-PW, SW, LW with Golf Pride grips for $199 OBO. Would that be better/worse spent than a set of the TourEdge's, or TM Rocketbladez? I tried out the Rocketbaldez the other day at Dicks on a launch monitor a was hitting pretty straight at around 115-128 yards consecutively with a 7 iron, and they felt pretty great.

Better. They have a higher resale than TourEdge and are better irons than Rocketbladz in my opinion. I bought a set for my godson for his 16th birthday. The G10s feel good at impact, help get the ball in the air and are very forgiving.

The dude said he'd part with 'em for $188 after shipping for the set. Decent deal I'm thinking? Gonna be a pain on my wallet between new clubs, and Masters Tickets but oh well...

I think this might depend on fit. If you are fine with standard length, you might do better buying a used set from a major brand. But with gigagolf, length and lie adjustments are included in the price.  Have you at least done their e-fit online to see what it recommends? A dynamic fitting would be even better, but maybe not in your budget yet. The static fitting is good to start with, though.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the PING irons for what ended up being $178 shipped. Hopefully they'll work out just fine. Worst case scenario, I'll use 'em till I can afford some better irons, and my dad will get my set of PINGs....
