Golfwire Course Handicap App

This free App calculates course handicap based on your official handicap. It can link directly into your GHIN and calculate your course handicap on courses you add. We were approached by the App designer to look at it.

I downloaded from iTunes but it also available for Android.

It doesn't appear spammy. Not all the courses I play were available when I searched. But it does look like a promising app.

Follow up: the GPS search feature works much better than the search by name. All my courses are in there. 

The other nice feature is you can get directions, link to the course website or call. All the information is there. The call feature is a bit touchy in that sometimes when I scroll it tries to call. But the access direct to the course is a great feature.

The GHIN app doesn't have the other features. It's free.

Hey, @Club Rat, we spoke off-line about an app you were searching for to manage your league that would track live scores (for a leaderboard feature) and do all the handicap math for various competitive formats you have.... well, this doesn't look like the live leaderboard feature, but you might take a look if any of the features align with what you need for other features of your league management. 

I've seen your sophisticated spreadsheet on how you manage handicaps and strokes given, and this likely is not going to replace much, if any, of that, but just thought I'd mention this, in case you had an opinion on this, or if it could be of some use to you for small groups. 

Here's the screenshot of managing groups that made me wonder if you could track the results of different competition formats in the "Games to Play" tab. I haven't downloaded it (it's free), but maybe you'd wanna take a look or give us feedback.

Thanks @RandallT I've taken a quick look at it's features.

I like the ability which it links to Ghin with posting scores.

Seems really busy with info which may be cumbersome for some.

I recently started designing and writing my own App.

I'll PM you with some thoughts, could become a new venture.

I'm just struggling to see any benefit that's not already readily available.  Seems like a solution in search of a problem, unless I'm really missing something...

Perhaps you have a different GHIN app than I do. The Mass, MGA, app is limited. The search function by name doesn't seem to work. When it lists nearby clubs, the closest club it shows is 151 miles away (I kid you not). When I try to search, nothing. It was also down for over a month. I have to manually input information to get my course handicap. So other than posting scores and get round summaries, it is pretty limited.
