Club Question Here:

So I'm not the best at hitting a driver (I slice viciously), but lately I have been killing my 5 iron long and straight. Drivers are expensive, and I don't see myself stopping my slice anytime soon, so what clubs would you recommend for an iron that I can hit longer than a 5, without sacrificing any accuracy? What brands have the best irons? Should I stick with the 5 or upgrade to a 4  or something lower? All answers welcome.

Welcome.  A few questions, what is your handicap, how long have you played golf, what kind of ball flight do you want, what are your current irons and are you looking to buy used or new clubs?

If you hit a 5i well, you could consider trying a 4i or maybe a hybrid.

Every major manufacturer (Ping, Titleist, Mizuno, Callaway, Taylormade & Cobra) makes quality irons, it's a matter of finding out which ones you hit best.

I've been playing golf my whole life, so around 20 years. Don't have a handicap (or have never thought to apply one), I'm a recreational golfer - usually play par/bogey golf from the white tees. I'd say I want straight ball flight. Right now I'm using the same set of Ram's that I've had for about 7 or 8 years, but its definitely time to upgrade them.

Are you looking at new clubs or pre-owned, approximate budget?

Preferably a new set of clubs in the near future, but at now Id say looking into just a single new iron. Budget is around $200

If you're just looking for one club I'd check a Golfsmith or PGA Tour Superstore and see if they have any single irons you can try out.  Most higher handicaps don't hit longer irons well and prefer a hybrid.  With $200 you could get a nice 4 or 5 hybrid which would give you slightly longer distance but higher ball flight than a 4 iron.

I would wait until you buy your new set to get a new 4 iron unless you go and get fitted and just purchase the 4i to start out with.

As per your slice and driver: see if you can find the cause. You might just need a swing adjustment. No reason why you can't pick up a 4i and straighter shots with your driver in the same week.
