Most of the players that I follow regularly play on the PGA tour 99 percent of the time but I find more enjoyment watching the European Tour events more so than PGA tour events (excluding majors.)

Not sure of my reasoning but I seem to like the course layouts better and the commentary I find way more enjoyable.

Sorry if this isn't directly related to a specific even, I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same.

We have some good early morning coverage of some European Tour events on Golf Channel. For me, it's a timing thing. Nice to get up and put on some relaxed coverage while I drink some coffee. The commentators are part of the morning relaxation. The competition is usually good, and the scenery/course is quite nice. What a great way to start the day.

The PGA coverage is a totally different beast. Late afternoon. The busy day has mostly gone on, there's still things we usually need to get done before dark, and it's time to eat dinner soon. The style of coverage is more commercial somehow, as it's usually a major network. There's usually more on the line for the players, and the events seem bigger (and the players are typically the bigger names in golf).

The whole feel of each event is nearly polar opposite, so each has its place, I suppose. Both are great.

When I did watch TV golf, I always thought  the Europeans did a better job.. There was more golf shown, (fewer commercials) and the commentary seemed better. I always thought commentators were more in the back ground, and didn't require a lot of on camera face time to do their job. They seemed to whisper which gave the viewer a sense of actually being at the tournament.

That last sentence I hadn't even thought about but makes sense. I was watching the open on the way to work this morning and it was great
