...the Youngstown State University Ladies Invitational at Mill Creek North Course for a couple of hours today. Enjoyed myself, and saw some terrific golf and golfers. It surprised me that on many par 4's, the ladies teed off from where the men's white tees usually are. And they were smacking the ball out there just as far as we do, and sometimes farther! This is even more impressive when the person doing it is about 5'6" and 120lbs!

Maybe I'm a geek, but I just love watching a good golf swing!

My only point in posting this is to say that if there's college or university near you that plays matches at a local course, get out there and watch if you have a chance. Doesn't cost you anything but the gas for the drive, and the next up and coming tour star could be in the field. This won't be my last time. I'll be checking the schedule to see when the next matches are, particularly the men's. Should be a hoot watching them bomb it off the blues!

I know iacas coaches a college golf team, and I'm sure the coaches and golfers appreciate the support.

Also, for those in the Cleveland area, the Web.com tour is in Beachwood this week I think it might be at Canterbury GC, which is a course I'd like to get a look at. Thinking about driving up to see it.

Good idea. I'm near SDSU and I think they have a couple of good teams.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.
