Ok i have a really big descsion that i have to make in the next couple of weeks. Im going down to Dsiney with my family in July and me and my dad were going to play at least three rounds when we were down there. WE were going to play Falcons fire and two disney courses, and then last night my dad threw the curve ball ot the century at me.

He said that he wouldn't mind ditching the family for a day and going up to Ponte Vedra and playing TPC Sawgrass, Stadium!!!! The catch was that it would be the only golf we would play when we were down there. Now i have to make a descision: A. Play one of the best golf courses in the country. or B. play a bunch of really good courses.

What do you guys say, play a bunch of good ones or the great one and sacrafice the rest?????

Do you want your wife to be pissed at you everyday for leaving and playing golf on some courses you could play anytime or do you want to say hey go have a girls day im going to play a course I will not have the chance to play again and not get in trouble. I would go for Sawgrass. Bring back the story of No. 17.

The Disney courses are real nice. But I would have to go with Sawgrass, it's legendary. Plus, you can watch the Players and remember all the holes.

Definitely Sawgrass. Oh don't forget bring the camera with you. Take pictures on every holes, on the tee box, while you're on the fairway, and on the green too (watch the pace of play though). Have your dad take yours when you're in action. Later in the evening or the next day choose few of the best to have them framed and hang on the wall in your room. Simply a golf round to remember.

Man u guys are making this really dificult for me. I want to play golf while im down there so im i can get away from my sisters but the tempataion of the Stadium is gettin too tough.

Considering this is just December, and you live in the northeast, I would play as much golf as I could. Sawgrass will always be there. Why not spend several days playing golf with your Dad. I'd take time like that spent with my Dad over any one course any day of the week. Besides, how often in the next few weeks, up in the northeast, will you have the chance to play golf three times? Have fun!

Play some good ones and skip Stadium for now.

Two reasons: * You're playing with your dad. That's gotta be awesome in itself, I hope. * Stadium can be another trip when you're older. Maybe a golf-specific trip, maybe with your dad, maybe some friends, whatever. Play as much as you can since you can't back home. If you were coming from Los Angeles, I might say try Stadium.

I'm with Shindig, but with a twist. Play the Orlando area courses, have a great time, and then say "Dad, TPC would just cap off the greatest week in my life" and see what he says.

Im going to Ponte Vedra!!! Also my dad said that if i do in my AP class then he will leave the window open for more golf during the trip.

Thanks for all your advice, i was leaning to not playing sawgrass until you guys set me straight. Now im going to practice so i dont absolutley suck when i get there. Eagerly waiting till July.

I had a feeling your dad would cave (he's a golfer)...you know he wants to play in Orlando too. You better get the grade!

Will he let you go off on your own to play? I know you're only 15, but will you be 16 by then, and would he trust you with the car?

Try to get out on your own some day as well. But I would DEFINITELY take the Sawgrass opportunity.

Sawgrass, no doubt. Play it while you have the chance.

Well the descision has been made.

If you do what in your AP class? And which AP class? There might be folks on the board who know the material and can offer help if you need it.

Will he let you go off on your own to play? I know you're only 15, but will you be 16 by then, and would he trust you with the car?

It might be a rental car in which case, I think you need to be 25 to drive it.

I have to well in my AP class, sorry for the typo. Its AP European History and im a sophomore. Right now i have a 68 in it and thats the 6th highest out of 25 so ill get a 89 when everything is scaled at the end of the term. Basically the median grade in the class is a 60 because its a collge level class that you take every day. So the workload of that class and all other honors classes makes the grades not so good. My teacher always makes the median at the end of the qtr a 85. The only thing that is important is that i do good on the AP test at the end of the year.

And when ill be in Florida i will be 16 and 3+ months so ill only have a permit.

    • Day 203 (21 Nov 24) - Weekly nine hole round with my good friend.  Played it as a 7 club challenge (7w, 5h, 7i, 9i, GW, LW, putter).  As we were playing up a set of tees, no super loss of distance off the tee.  Had some good looks at birdie, failed to convert.  These sessions with fewer clubs really helps with course management.
    • Tell me about it - shouldn’t have second guessed…
    • My wife is going to drag me to see Wicked.   She is very excited to see it.   We saw the musical while in Chicago and thought it was very good.  I'm not usually a fan of musicals but I'm looking forward to seeing this.   Gladiator 2 does look good.   I'm going to go back and watch the original Gladiator before going to the theater.
    • MSN Glover expressed his dissatisfaction with what he termed as 'cool kid meetings' between Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger Woods and other high-profile golfers. "I think it's terrible," he stated. "And then hiding behind pace of play, I think, challenges our intelligence. They think we're stupid.     "Don't cut fields because it's a pace of play issue. Tell us to play faster, or just say you're trying to appease six guys and make them happy so they don't go somewhere else and play golf." Fitzpatrick joined the conversation on X (formerly Twitter), with the 30-year-old echoing Glover's sentiments regarding the PGA Tour changes. "He's so right," Fitzpatrick posted. "Pathetic that pace of play is spoken about every year and nothing ever gets done."     I agree. Instead of  penalizing  players for  turtle  play they appease the  slow jerks  by  cutting the  fields. They will play even slower  knowing they will NEVER be  penalized.
    • I've been Playing Golf for: 3 years  My current handicap index or average score is: 1.5 My typical ball flight is: neutral /slight draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: hook   Looking for some advice please folks. Started golfing three years ago and got hooked. Had some early lessons and was a slicer etc.  I used to have a severe inside takeaway and through working hard to fix as ever (this game…) it’s now gone too far the other way where I take it back way outside.  i think it looks really bad and have gotten a lesson last year where we tried to competely reset the swing and it ruined things for months as I couldn’t get it to stick (my fault).    anyway do I need to fix this? I hit it reasonably solid but don’t know what else I’m looking at or need to clean up. All opinions welcomed!  Videos:
