I have a Taylormade R7 460 Driver that I got late in the year and I love it. I hit the ball great with it. I have noticed that it appears to be a short staff in comparison with some of my other drivers. I Think its 45" now. Just wondering if you can add an inch or so to the existing shaft or do you have to get it reshafted?

You can get (or have someone install) a shaft extender that is just a "piece of shaft" that will stick out the end of your existing shaft. 45" is hardly a short shaft, BTW. And if you do extend it 1", it will play somewhere around 5-6 swingweight points heavier than it does now (which may or may not matter to you).

Before you do so, check the maximum legal driver shaft length. Or are you trying a long-drive competition (which uses different rules)?

another thing to think about. Not only will your club pick up 5 to 6 swing weights, it will also be "more flexible" as far as shaft stiffness is concerned. Plus 46 inches requires some pretty good hand eye coordination. You gotta wait on the shaft and club head... it's tricky
