With 40+/- days left in this year, what have been some of the high points in 2016 for you?

For myself most of my high points have been accomplishments by others. We have a grand daughter who has been accepted to just about any college of her choice. Her last two years of highschool have been at UNLV. She plans to eventually become a pediatrician. My wife was sucessful with her involvement in a local free clinic, and other charity work. Other family members did quite well with some their endeavors. The Cubs winning the world series was kind of cool thing for this life long Cubs fan.

Me personally, I was lucky and made a few bucks in the stock market after a some mediocre years.

All in all it was a good year.

Interesting. The biggest highlight of my year is my brother getting a full time 8-5 job as a QC lab technician in a big pharmaceutical company and we are extremely proud of him. It was particularly challenging and stressful because he is autistic. Smart as a whip, dependable, and eager to learn but with autism it's sometimes very difficult for companies to commit. And not only are we proud of him getting the job, but he's doing very well there to boot :)

1. My older son, 8yo, was diagnosed with dyslexia and an auditory processing disorder. While he always read "at grade level," my wife knew something wasn't right. When the public school system said he was fine and wouldn't test him, she chose to put her career on the back burner and now stays home to homeschool him. We have gotten him tested, diagnosed, and now working on some interventions. Though the reading becomes more difficult as they progress in school, he still reads at grade level and is making some breakthroughs. I'm thankful that my wife not only had the wherewithall to know something wasn't right, but the selflessness to put our son first. Getting diagnosed and started sooner will allow him to be more successful in the long run than if it was swept under the proverbial rug simply because he was performing at grade level.

2. My younger son, 6yo, has multiple heart issues for which he's been followed since birth. This past week, we got good news that one issue was gone, and that two other issues were not nearly as bad as previous thought, and because of that (while he will still likely need a valve replacement at some point), he is no longer restricted from certain sports as he has been previously.

while not exactly the pinnacle, but still a "high point" in 2016 was meeting "Spider" and "Shindig" when my daughter and I joined them at Camp Pendleton. Face to face is usually a better way of getting to know someone than on a forum where opinions formed often fall short of reality.

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
