Myrtle Beach Advice

Season's Greetings Everyone,

Hope the winter is treating everyone well. I haven't touched a club since October, but planning a trip to the beach is therapy enough.

I am looking to go to MB in March, and was looking for advice on the following courses, which ones would you say "do not play" and which courses would you say "you have to play"

I would highly recomend the following and why.

#1 Carolina national-3 9's all great and allways in great shape,people are nice as hell and will do for you whats needed.Not an easy course but fair.

#2- Crow Creek-Maybe the fastest greens in Myrtle-L93 bent greens and allways in good shape large fairways and good people.

#3 The Witch-Old Maples course extremely underestimated in my opinion curls thru woods on allmost every hole and greens are in good shape.Usually Damp on front side but Myrtle like the rest of the south has had a drought for a while so shoud not bother you in march.

The only one I do not like at all is Water way hills as you can get killed there by errant shots real easy. 3-9"s on land that should be one 18.FORE!

myrtlewood palmetto is a good, but tough course... have played waterway hills too the main thing i remember was the trip over the water which was a pretty cool setup from what i remember of the course it was pretty nice

There are really no dog tracks in your list. The better courses in your list would be:

Blackmoor, Carolina National, Crow Creek, Prestwick, River Hills, Tradition and The Witch. It also depends where you're staying, if you staying in North Myrtle Beach, you probably don't want to pick courses in the South such as Litchfield. If you would like a quote, just drop us a line.

I am going to Charlotte in March to visit family. I am thinking of doing a couple MB courses while down there, is it worth the drive and an overnight stay in a hotel, or should I just play courses closer to Charlotte. I have a limited budget, so money IS a consideration (I can't play Pinehurst this time ). I will probably play four total rounds... either 4 in Charlotte, or 2 each place. For MB I can choose off posted list, but what about Charlotte area, any suggestions?

Are you a single golfer? If so, most golf courses will not allow us to pre-book tee-times for single golfers. I think the drive would be worth it, but driving alone might and looking for a spot to play as a walk-in might not be a relaxing event.

No, my wife will be joining me, so no worries there. Plus, if I went out to MB, I would do it mid-week since prices are probably a little lower.

you should try like the west or south course at myrtle beach national or one of the courses at wild wing wouldnt be that expensive, they both make their money off of a expensive course so the others arent to bad price wise you might could even get a 2 day deal at either place

All but one course has closed at Wild Wing.

If you have never been to the Beach before then it would be worth it.
Look online for tee-times, most can be booked over the internet, you'll see prices there.

Also there are always deals, and coupons in local MB newspapers if you can be flexible and look for something last minute.
