The internet is failing me! I want to buy M2 Tour irons (heads only) and get fit for them with the shafts that I want. I can't seem to find them anywhere on the Internet without shafts. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Why not just go to a store and get fit for them? TaylorMade can put whatever shaft you want in them.

I'm sure you've looked on eBay, not going to be easy to find without the shafts.

Yeah, it's almost impossible to purchase just heads for irons, especially new models.  Go to any store or golf club with a fitting station to get fit and find the shaft you want, then special order them through whomever, unless you find what you want from a 3rd party site.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a pro I work with here at an indoor range where I play in the winter. The problem is he is a Mizuno retailer and not Taylormade. I was hoping I could find some heads that I could bring him and have him fit them for me. Throw some business his way since he takes pretty good care of us during the winter. I guess I'll have him fit me for the Mizunos then order the Taylormades to those specs. Thanks again guys.

You could also ask the pro you are working with for a recommendation of good fitters who do carry Taylormade, since he does not carry them. That may be more beneficial because there are some fitters that will give you the fitting for free if you buy the clubs from them.

Some certified clubfitting specialists can get the head you want from the manufacturer, with the desired shaft inserted in the heads, with a plug in the end of the uncut shaft's butt. Then, the fitters do final fitting and gripping in the shop. But, expect to pay extra $$.

Or, as @mvmac said, you can go get custom-fitted at a mainline golf shop.

Also, the custom-fitted set from a mainline shop probably won't cost any more than an off-the-rack set, unless you get really exotic shafts or grips. The main manufacturers are offering a lot more shaft variety in iron sets these days with no upcharge.

* Callaway Steelhead irons offer five steel and five graphite shaft models.
* Mizuno offers multiple stock shafts for the JPX 900 irons.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
