I was messing around with some impact tape with my driver. I hit about 10 shots, and noticed all of my shots were toward the heel. I can't seem to figure out why. It may explain why I lose a little distance with my driver.

I guess at least it's consistent. I can post a new video in My Swing thread in the next couple days, but in the mean time what could be the cause? And all there any drills I can do to improve my impact to get it closer to the center?

I think I'm losing 10-20 yards by not hitting the center of the face.

Thanks as always,

Shane

Shane,

At the risk of stating the obvious, did you experiment with your set-up by addressing the ball more toward the toe of the driver? That maybe (and I mean maybe) all that you need. Impact tape will quickly confirm/ reject if it's an improvement.

I did and it was still toward the heel. Maybe a little more toward the center, but not much.

Being a fellow LSW reader, I remember reading the recommendation that you experiment with groups of 5 shots and your impact tape. Changing things around with the set-up until you figure out what works for you. Strangely, I've found that standing a bit closer to the ball at address has helped me overcome this same issue. Hope this helps.

Did you attempt to inch forward a bit or was is it more a lot at once?

Just gradually. 1-2 inches max. I was in the net, and not worrying about the ball flight, just wanting to improve the contact. At the time I was working on my posture as @mvmac suggested below, and the resulting setup was naturally a bit closer than what it had been.
