John Rahm and Tony Finau both hit the ball a ton with a short backswing. How do they do it?

I'll raise you JB Holmes...who is the king of short backswings.  They all still make good shoulder turns, get in good positions on the downswing and create plenty of lag.

I love watching players strike the ball with a good compact swing. I can learn from this.

Another good example is Charlie Hoffman, he isnt as long as them but he isn't a short knocker by any means. My buddy who started the game about a year ago has had a swing that would make Daly's look compact. Recently I talked him into shortening it and it helped him in transition, improving his rotation through the ball and timing with his leg drive, increasing his distance and helping his azimuth.

Somebody can correct me if I am wrong because what I am about to say is only from observation, but the guys with shorter backswings all make a full shoulder turn, but it seems to me that they make a wider turn so they're backswing looked to be short. Even though they have turned fully.

Of of course, none of them do so in an uncomfortable manner as so many newer players try to do so in an attempt to 'widen' their arc.
