Today because it was very windy, I decided to play my practice round from the forward tees.   The rating for the forward tee is 69.2 with the slope at 117.   The white tees are 67.4 /118.

What I noticed today for the first time, even though I've played from the forward tees previously, at my course there is no distinction from the men and the women.    According to my understanding, the white tees would be easier for the professional players and not much difference for the bogie player.

I asked the pro why there was no rating for the men from the forward tees and he told me there never is a distinction between the the men and the women on the tees, just rating and slope.

I have before me a scorecard from a course I played last week.  It lists different rating and slope for men and women.   Is this something that is unique to the course?   Which is correct?  Which is official?  Why is one different than another.

Your pro was wrong, there should be separate ratings for men and women for any specific set of tees.  The other course was normal in the regard.  I don't have the right info in front of me right now, but ill try to find and post the links when I get time.

That is incorrect. All courses are rated differently for Men and Women.

At @DaveP043 has provided links to the Course ratings National Data Base several times.

Look up the course you are describing here - course rating data base

It will show the course (Tees) for men and women, slope/rating.

....and then, show it to the "pro".

Here's a link to charts that show you how to convert CR and slope from a set of tees not rated for one gender.

It wouldn't hurt to recommend to the pro that the next time the course is rated, they ask that the forward tees also be rated for men.  They could easily also rate the middle tees for women too...
