I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on many pros having their feet off the ground at impact/near impact.

Is it something you have tried to implement into your game? Have you seen a substantial increase in power in doing so or had any issues that it has caused?

I tried implementing it in the past to no avail (likely provided some laughs for those at the range though haha!). However, last night at the range followed by watching a video of Justin Thomas hitting driver allowed me to finally make progress in understanding how to implement this. For me the key seems to be snapping the left leg straight while rotating my hips hard. It allows me to get more rotation on the downswing and I would imagine if done hard enough with the proper timing result in the front foot coming off the ground.

As has often been noted on TST, PGA tour golfers are amazing animals! They have balance and coordination well beyond what most of us have.

The last year or two, I had tried to improve my swing footwork. Mainly what I accomplished - as shown on slow-motion camera - was to shift the weight to my toes and often lose my balance at the top.

Also, I got a severe roll sprain of the right ankle a couple of years ago. Although it has healed, it's not as strong as the left. I wear an elastic ankle sleeve for extra support; it prevents ankle wobble as I get tired late in the rounds.

With the ankle support and weight back on my heels/butt out, I'm getting better balance and step-through on my downswing. My driver has become the most reliable club in the bag (now if I could just get the FWs to behave...).

I'm 66 years old now, and I do best if I keep my swing in balance. Many seniors these days have added balance-enhancement exercises to their workouts. The balance starts to fade as one ages.

Focus, connect and follow through!

funny..   when I read the beginning of your paragraph I was going to mention Justin Thomas.   He's probably the most exaggerated example of this,.  As I read farther, i noticed that you already mentioned him.

It's something some people do, but I don't know that I would actively try to do it.

And… most of those who do it, do it only with the driver.

Seems like the kind of thing that a young kid would start doing when trying to swing really fast. Seems like it would be very hard to learn how to do this and keep your swing in control.

My guess is that Justin Thomas started doing this as a kid, and it's just part of his swing now.
