I was curious if anyone on TST has any experience with Modding the XBox 360.  My son wants to do some mods to GTA5 and shows me these silly YouTube videos that only talk about doing it.  They don't show actual instructions.  I was trying to explain to him I need file info, what to do with it, where to put it and so on.... you don't just download a file, waive your magic wand and Wolla!

If anyone has any info, pointers or tips it would be appreciated.

Thanks!  VC

Based on the people who ask me for computer help, this is exactly what people think I do all day.

Looks like gta5-mods.com has a lot of tools, mods, and a forum with a sub-forum for installation help:

Thanks guys!  I checked those out and they look to be PC mods not 360 ones.

Not bad instructions but PC.  I will keep looking on forums to see if I can find something that is for the 360, not linked to a virus file and has decent instructions.

I thought that the GTA mods were really just for pc and even then aren't supported by rockstar games.  To do things on Xbox might involve a bit of hardware adjustment just to get started and even then there are probably restrictions on what is possible.

I have also heard stories of people sending their Xbox and some money to a 'reputable hacker' to get the hacks applied with varying results.

i was involved with an unreal tournament mod back in the day and it is a great way to get into game development.  If you have a pc then there are lots of games that officially support modders (like giving out instructions on how to do it).  If your son is interested that would be the best way to go.  If it has to be Xbox and it has to be gta5 then I think it might be a more complicated situation.

Thanks Zappy.  It is an odd situation.

I see a lot of Mods and stuff for the PC but all his friends are on Xbox so that's what he wants to do... of course... don't make it easy on Dad!

He has shown me a lot of videos and I can tell when they are on the PC and when they are on Xbox.  99% of the ones for Xbox do not show any thing about doing it.  They talk about it while playing then show this modded menu pop up.  I show him the comments from tons of people asking to show how to do it, not talk about it.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
