Is there anyway to get fitted for clubs online.  Probably a stupid question.  We only have one golf shop where I live and I get I don't know if I would go there for that or not.  Just don't feel like I would get the time I needed to be fitted and I know how much the guy really knows.  I have three sets of clubs at the moment.  I have a older Adams Idea set with senior graphite shafts that I have had for quite a while.  Then I have a little newer  set of Adams Idea os set with steel regular shafts and then I just bought a new set of Callaway xr irons a few months ago. The set came with 3 and 4 hybrid and 5 through a A wedge irons with fubuki at 55 xct regular flex shafts.  I am 70 and around a 16 handicap.  I have took a nine iron from all three sets and hit  balls and I can't really tell a whole lot of difference with any of them.  Of course I don't it the ball solid nearly about all the time.   As far as the clubs go when I put the three clubs all side by side I really like the looks of the Adams Idea os heads.  They have a little wider sole and a thinner top line which I like.  I don't really know if I need a senior type shaft or a regular shaft.  I remember when I used to get a catalog from Golfsmith back years ago and I couldn't believe how many different shafts there were.  There's probably more now.  If I knew what shaft I needed and what length and what size grip I wouldn't mind sending the clubs to someone and have new shafts put in and the clubs re gripped.  Just a thought.  Thanks

In reading the articles from club maker Tom Wishon, there are at least twelve aspects of a proper fitting. I really do not think you would be happy with an online fitting based on static measurements without the fitter having data concerning your individual swing dynamics. That does not solve your dilemma however.  Maybe meeting your local fitter, talking with him, asking for references, noting what types of fitting equipment (monitors e.t.c.), you could at least get an idea and hopefully boost your confidence level in him.  Otherwise, a road trip is in order.

On a side note, I have also found through trial and error, that sometimes what would "seem" like what you need for example club flex, might not necessarily be the case.  I have found that at least with driver, a stiff flex seems to suit me better, contrary to what people have said that at my age and slower swing speed, a senior flex is what I should be using.  "Conventional Wisdom is an Oxymoron".  Even though I personally have not been properly fitted, I would recommend that anyone should do so.

I'll kind of talk around a little and see what I can come up with.  Probably like everyone else looking for that magic club to correct everything but that probably wont' happen.  Thanks for the advice.

You can find people who will "fit you" online, but there's no guarantee the clubs will work for  you.

For clubfitting, it's best to do it in person with a good fitter.

Where in Louisiana do you live that you have only golf shop in the area?

Ever think that the fitters may not work out of a golf shop? There are several in my area who work out of ranges etc.. Google it.

But to answer your question - No. I don't think an online golf fitter would work. As an example I have tried True Tempers shaft fitter several times, and I have never been matched up with the proper shaft.

    • Feel like you are left side dominant. Keep the back of your glove running through impact. Keeps leading edge down without digging. You will pick them clean with some zip if the grass is nice and generally acceptable results off anything less than ideal. Works with both hingy or dead hand pitches and chips.
    • Day 52 (30 Apr 26) - Had planned a solo round, got invited to be part of trio that included a fmr mini tour pro.  Was fun playing back a set of tees and having to stay in my game plan. Both were very engaging and encouraging in the round.  A good day in working through and making smarter shot choices.

    • I mean, a golfer is trespassing and damaging property. So, golf rules don’t supersede state laws. 😉 Like, if it isn’t marked and is off golf property. The right thing to do is take an unplayable lie or take stroke and distance.  Also, this is a liability for the course. The homeowner could easily say the course is liable for damage done because they knowingly didn't mark their boundaries which allowed golfers to trespass and damage property.
    • Interestingly enough, if the course (the Committee in Rules terms) doesn't mark the boundaries, there is nothing out of bounds.  I realize that neighboring homeowners would take a dim view of golfers whacking balls from their backyards, but that's what the Definition of Out of Bounds requires. "All areas outside the boundary edge of the course as defined by the Committee."
