Hello everyone here on the sand trap forum. I´m new to this forum so if i break any rules please go easy on me hehe.

I´m a guy at the age of 16 who´ve been playing golf for less than a year. By now you´ve probably already guessed that I´m in need of some help and you could´nt be more correct.

Dont get me wrong, I think I have done some great progress over the last few months and I feel like my shots are getting more consistent with every training session.

I feel like this is the time where I just need to put in the hours to get better, however there is one thing I'm afraid of. The last thing I want is to shoot a bunch of buckets with an error in my swing, making it harder and harder to train away in the future. I know from experience that It's so much easier to change a detail when you´re still a beginner at something respective to having put in the hours.

So I came up with an idea. I was gonna find a bunch of articles and videos about how to perform a golfswing for beginners and then doubble check it with a video of myself to see if I´m doing anything wrong. Well turns out that is easier said than done.

After scrolling through youtube and the forum of this website I felt overwhelmed. So many different advise and opinions. And considering I'm a beginner I have no clue who I should listen to or learn from.

So basically I'm asking you guys for videos/threads/articles etc. about the basics of the golfswing, (borth irons and driver) that you think are good and possibly have helped you with your swing.

Thanks in Advance /Filip

Here's what I recommend. Get these two things down first:

Get those down. Then just worry about this:

Also, post a swing in the Member Swings thread. And read this for how to practice:

What @iacas said.  Golf advice is free and overwhelming.  Everyone, regardless of their skill level, has some secret or "I always think of it this way..." to impart.  Separating the wheat from the chaff can be a daunting process.  It is better, in the long run, to tackle each aspect of a proper swing in sequence.  And to restrict inputs to a few trusted advisers.  Beyond that...trust your talent, your abilities, and your native intellect.  Anyone with the desire, and discipline, to become a better golfer,  has the necessary tools to do so.

    • Day 135: worked on putting bead for a while with the 2 cups drill.
    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
    • First time playing this game, Spanish is my native language. It was impossible for me. After 4 worlds I run out of worlds that have the letters I've already found that can be combined with the remaining letters.. just repeated the 4th world to knew the answer. I know the world but it never came to my mind.
