I should have known about these or at least Googled it earlier. Don't fall for fake "sales" and make your purchasing decisions with more complete pricing info.

Here is a Chrome extension called keepa.

And here is a web page with pricing history. CamelCamel

For example, here's the Bushnell Range Finder entry in CamelCamel:

Great stuff Steve! Next time someone looks over my shoulder they'll think I'm looking at financial charts or stock trends.

Nope, just trying to see the best time to give Amazon all my money.

This is an informative reddit thread on Amazon and retail pricing:

Here's CamelCamel's history for Game Golf Live:

https://camelcamelcamel.com/GAME-GOLF-Live-Tracking-System/product/B014UY7LV2

A Dell 4K monitor, holy cow, the variance is crazy $440 - $680:

https://camelcamelcamel.com/Dell-Monitor-P2715Q-27-Inch-LED-Lit/product/B00PC9HFO8

Now I'm going to see if there's a price history for any big ticket item I buy. Gonna come in handy when upgrading the living room tv.

I've seen Amazon raise prices if you get a price for an item, leave their site and come back soon after.

You can see how Amazon varies a price for a product, so you don't get bilked. It has alerts, so you can say if GG is priced at $125, Tweet/E-mail me a link so I can buy it.

I've always known about variable pricing, I've just been going by my knowledge of the retail market to get the best deals, but nowadays, there's too much info, too many products, this is better and saves you time doing research.

There's a recent biggest price drops table. I just bought 24 cans of tuna, woohoo, for the same price I'd get at Costco, but I don't have to schlep there, one less thing to buy.

Sometimes they lower them. My wife was looking at something and I told her not to get it, then she just happened to pop on looking up something else another day and it was on sale so we got it.

It's been comical to watch "the kids today" learn how 'sales' and the retail market works and think that they are the first to discover it or that it's even new. :-P

TIL is today I learned. I dunno how effective this is but I'll look up the thing I want to buy elsewhere. Walmart, Target, B&H, Best Buy, whatever. Sometimes I think that might lower the price when you come back to Amazon later. I admit sometimes I forget to price comparison shop as so many times Amazon has the best price so I just assume.

I was looking at a monitor at B&H in the spring. It was 500 I think. Went back a couple of days later it was 550. It's like tracking a stock ticker.

I noticed that Amazon did this years ago, especially during xmas. People get some deals and the priming effect occurs so they keep buying thinking that amazon has good prices although amazon is gradually raising them higher than retail stores.

Amazon Amazon Amazon. $25 cheaper at wiggle.com, even with the delivery charge, way cheaper.

Update: Wiggle is in the UK, customs, never mind.

    • Day 48. Got out at lunch to the range to hit some driver shots. Haven’t had much practice there. Focused on setup suggested by @iacas and found some very playable results. I did try to hit a couple of bunker shots after that with much less success 🙃
    • Got a rare birdie on #18 Par 5.  Drive was good and left me in range of the green.  I was @ 210 from the center and needed @ 180 to clear a hazard area.  Green had bunkers lest, right and on back. had been struggling and most shots were short so I took the 225 club figuring back of green hit well. i did hit it well, @ 229 per SS and dead on—kind at the pin.  Ended up @ 1 foot off the back in short rough and lucky for me it was a back pin placement.  Chipped about 15 feet leaving a 3 feet putt for par which I sunk.
    • Yea, so to clarify for me. I do not feel the clubface much in the swing. I feel the weight of the club. I can feel if I hit the club off the heel or toe. When I try to feel if the clubface is open or closed in the swing, I feel it more with my hands, and less of the clubhead. I would classify majority of my swings as not feeling like the clubface does much of all. It feels like I hold the clubface open. In the finish, it doesn't feel like my left hand faces the ground. It feels more like it faces the sky. I will try to be more aware of this, but it was just the sensation I got when I was making what felt like good swings. For the most part, I was hitting slight draws or slight pushes.  On this golf trip, I had to hit a low 8 iron around a tree to the green. I made an alignment adjustment, and actively try to roll my hands a bit more to get it to sling around the corner. I do have a habit of not adjusting how the clubface comes through impact, and I can still hit the ball straight-ish even moving the ball way back in my stance and trying to swing out more.  Yea, my feels are more hands and arms, less actually feeling the clubface.
