My name is Jason and I'm from Tulsa.  I've played a little over a handful of rounds over the past few years and have decided that it's time to actually learn how to play.  I'm a bogey and a half "golfer" right now and hope to eventually break 90.  I took my first lesson a couple of days ago and didn't realize how ugly my swing looked, no wonder I had the slice from hell!  Anyway, look forward to contributing, updating and getting to know everyone.

Welcome, Jason

Glad you joined up, and thisbis a great place to grow as a golfer.

Good first stop is the Instructional Content under the Info menu above. For bogey golfers, I think a great place to start is simply with the grip and the posture fundamentals.  Those are things I had wrong for years (grip weak, weight way back on heels).  Gotta start with something that'll give you a chance!

After a while, consider a member swing thread. That's where I've seen many start to really put things together. I'm on a bit of a hiatus as my neck recovers, but I know I've learned a ton about the golf swing after putting in the work on my swing thread. Hoping I can get back to it soon.

Welcome again!

Welcome to the asylum. The doctors can be gruff, at times, but they mean well.  The important thing to remember is...hold on a minute...it's time for my medication.  See ya round.

Thanks for warm welcome and the link to the instructional info.  I'm going to get a swing video up soon from my first less on to keep track of mechanics/improvements.  Went out and played in a scramble this past Saturday.  Shots are still inconsistent, but I'm starting to make better contact.  I guess like anything practice will make perfect...just wish it was a sport that I had more natural ability in!

Natural ability is something we all have.  When I first began playing I found I had more natural ability than most people who had never played the game.  That is still true today.
