You could ask them, but off the top of my head… 5500 yards?

You don't provide too much information but my assumption is that you are trying to artificially equalize the levels such thatvanyone has a chance to win.

And you jumped right to the solution of using different tees. Is that correct?

Yes.  We have a lpga player (great record) playing in club net tournaments.  She still has a pro status not amateur but she is a member and is playing ladies tees

Thrilled to have her just trying to figure out what is the right way to address tournaments

In my opinion, she should be able to play as any other female, regardless of skill level.   If all of the ladies play from the forward tees, that's where she would also.     If it is a net tournament, she will have to give strokes.

I've seen this happen before back in the day.  My ex-sister in law was about a 6 handicap and played from the women's tees often.   The members complained and she moved back to the men's tees where she still was better.  Nobody was happy because she still beat most of the men.   They eventually made the club championship male only creating a separate event for the women.

From the land of perpetual cloudiness.   I'm Denny

Thank you for your thoughts.  I am also a single digit amateur and understand your sister's situation.   That said, I like others are struggling with the fact a professional with major titles under her belt isn't playing from scratch.    The Legend's tour for senior ladies plays at 6100 yds approx and one of our club events she played at 4800 yds.   with handicap.     The other sports I've played are tennis/equestrian which  always made the "professionals" play in the open division.  Amateurs could play up to the division but  the pros couldn't move down.  (they could request amateur status if not being paid/wanted that status)     So with that experience I'm reaching out for more knowledge on what the majority of pro senior women do when playing for "fun".    On one  hand, she's a member but on the other it's causing problems among the ladies "normal" net tournaments.  (not club championship)     I always believe there's a solution for every problem so just looking for ideas.  Thanks again!

If she has a handicap… then really, it should be pretty fair regardless of the tees from which she plays.

Doesn't matter that she won majors maybe 20 or 30 years ago. She's the golfer today that she is, whether that's a 1 handicap or a 7.3.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
