I can't comment on either one of those Callaways. I wanted only to call attention to the fact that with the adjustable driver heads, one has to manipulate their set up in order to achieve the desired  dynamic loft. Still the benefit of being able to swap out shafts is a consideration as well. or to some extent, a swing change during the year.  You would only need a couple of the hosel adapters/tips.  The question of shortening the shaft vs choking down was also raised. Probably not much difference, other than gripping down would effectively add a small amount of counterweight to the grip. This in and of itself could bother some having a 1/2 inch or more of grip protruding above the fulcrum point in which case actual shortening might be better.(as long as the result gives you what you wanted,) otherwise there is no going back unless you want to add a shaft extension.  Key is a "proper" fitting to begin with.

Then why was I getting at least 20 more yards from the XR16? Better fit, less spin.

I have no idea? My experience was different.

From my understanding it depends only on your angle of attack. Personally, Ive worked hard to change my swing to get a positive angle of attack and now use a  7.5 loft on my driver which suits my new swing and impact.
