Hey guys - been awhile since I posted, but i wanted to introduce everyone to a new version of golf I have been playing with my friends the last couple years...

This is a really fun way to play because it takes a lot of stress off the blow up holes because you are always playing for points over score.

Anyone else do anything like this with their buddies?

Agree, a quick summary would be nice, rather than watching a series of videos.

FWIW though, simple match play or Stableford are both forms of play that take the "stress out of blowup holes", without having to resort to any kind of "different way to play" the game....

In David's bag....

Driver: Titleist 910 D-3;  9.5* Diamana Kai'li
3-Wood: Titleist 910F;  15* Diamana Kai'li
Hybrids: Titleist 910H 19* and 21* Diamana Kai'li
Irons: Titleist 695cb 5-Pw

Wedges: Scratch 51-11 TNC grind, Vokey SM-5's;  56-14 F grind and 60-11 K grind
Putter: Scotty Cameron Kombi S
Ball: ProV1

Or, to simplify things, we could just count every time we hit the ball, and whoever hits it the fewest times wins... ;-)

Me hit ball in hole. Me have fun. Hey whatever works for any of us and our crews.

I don’t begrudge anyone who gets out there and enjoys it.  Every group is slightly different and some situations naturally have different formats. Looks like y’all have a blast in your outing and that’s awesome. Welcome back to TST.

We have a lot of fun doing this every year, we even have a trophy the winner keeps until the following year.

We usually play this for about 7-8 9 hole rounds. Most of the time, I play golf by the normal rules.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
