Yet another golf product email hit my spam box, the Moon Wood, which held some interest due to its length of 38" mainly.

I have been playing with the whole single length thing recenlty with some success, but at the long end (say the 4 hybrid/iron), the shorter length just makes it very difficult to hit the single length club high enough.  This problem has been mentioned many times for single length systems from big name brands also.  This Moon wood promises short shaft yet very high launch using extreme low COG, but the $179 price is not exactly throwaway price.  Another question is the distance these things would actually produce on course due to the short shaft (38"), loft (25 degrees), and claimed high trajectory.

Go for it. The MW will look great in your bag next to your Hammer X driver. That pair will intimidate the heck out of playing opponents. POW!!!!

Seriously, give the Moon Wood a try and see how it works for you. That's the only way to tell. Looks like it's basically a 5H, with a little extra fairway wood mass behind it.

55° Hybrid HWedgeAlas, your bag is not yet complete. Alongside the Hammer and the MW, you need the H Wedge. This biggie-headed wedge head has elements of hybrid design in it.

So, if you MoonWood shot returns to earth beyond the green, you can give your opponents H with clever wedge shots.

Caution: No one has yet determined the optimum number of H wedges to carry into golf rounds. (Beware of marketing hype.)

badda boom! Guess that will be in the bag for awhile. I feel that what ever it takes for a person to be able to get out on the course and have fun. Being competitive in our golf game is an important reason that we are out on the course. So anything that can help us remain competitive, go for it!

And, you'll still need the stand up on its own S7K putter that will allow you to walk away and line up your putt from the next fairway...

    • Really interesting you say that. As my swing has improved I'm starting to struggle with pulling left. It looks like a "draw", but it has more to do with face than path, as I'm pretty close to neutral to slightly out to in most of the time. I've also moved the ball considerably further forward in my stance than I used to, so it makes sense the face would be further shut at impact than before.  Now I think of it, I've been compensating by aiming by an uncomfortable amount to my right, which causes my brain to panic on the downswing. I might try opening face at address and get used to that.
    • Day 13 (13 May 25) - Nice break in the rain just after mid-day, so got outside to continue the trail hand drill - moved up to 7i but still with hard foam balls.  Starting to see a smoother transition into the downswing and more consistent ball first contact.   Kept the swings to about 3/4 speed as I work on this small adjustment in the swing.
    • Day 6: Worked on my putting stroke by hitting putts using only my right hand.
    • I've got pretty big hands but I've also felt the challenge of ensuring the grip is in the fingers resulting in a not on purpose stronger grip. I've been making some swing changes that was resulting in the natural feeling at impact being a closed face. My grip has always been fairly strong. Not trying to sound like an asshole or anything, but the answer for me at least was just to start taking the grip from a weaker starting point! I have a pretty ingrained hand and wrist setup when I take my grip. I just started turning the club to have an open face when I start my getting the grip in the pinky routine. Has been working nicely. Lets me have the grip in my fingers and achieve a more neutral grip.
    • @dennyjonesand I are planning to stay in the Poland, OH area Friday night.  If any want to get together for dinner and/or drinks let us know. We are not sure exactly where we will stay or what time we will get there but if we can hook up with any of you it would be fun.
