Day 98 (8 Aug 24) - more rain, more inside only stuff - continued work from the past couple of days.  Worked on lag putts as well as short chips on the carpet.  Debby is supposed to be leaving NC tonight - maybe some outside stuff tomorrow.

Day 644, August 8, 2024

Wrist (and thumb) were a little sore, still, so took it light and only practiced at < 90 MPH (barely, ha!) for about 12 minutes.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 13:  Played 9 from the tips and added 6 strokes to my best score.  I think I’ll continue to hit from there going forward.

I may not hit the ball far, but at least I find all of the pretty flowers.

Day 645, August 9, 2024

Practiced for 45 minutes. Actually got up to 96 MPH with the 6I. Wrist still isn't 100%, thumb is close, but… I don't think I'm doing any other damage.

Day 99 (9 Aug 24)  -  More putting today (via the hall obstacle course created by my grandson)…talking about working on the start line - 1st gate is 4” at 10’, 2nd is under the skateboard about 20’, 3rd narrowly misses the football around 30’ to the auto return cup at the end of the hall - on a hardwood floor (stimp off the scale fast).  Best I could do was an easy paced two-putt.  Really was a tough drill focusing on starting well. Day 14:  My sons set up some drills for me in the garage.  I didn’t pass his tests.

I may not hit the ball far, but at least I find all of the pretty flowers.

Day 23: range day. Filmed my swing, worked on getting my hands down and making sure my hands are more vertical in the backswing. After that, did some random practice with driver and wedges. Then spent about 45 minutes at the short game area, working on chipping. Filmed a bit of that, too. Good practice day.

Day 1:

Been under the weather, haven’t remembered to post.

Worked on priority piece with 7-iron. Backswing piece is like 80% engrained.

Day 100 (10 Aug 24) - Finally a course day, of course it was CPO (cart path only)….still some much needed time across the bag.  As I told the course pro, it was a try to keep it as close as possible to the cart path as possible - which I failed more times than not.  Still a solid round - 41 front/41 back.  No major blow-ups except for the dbl on 11  that went something like this - tee shot hit the overhanging tree by the cart path and forced a layup that led to a third flew about 10 yds long and just off the green that led to a pitch that came up short and two putt dbl….recovered nicely with back to back pars.  Was a fun and challenging kind of day where nGIR was the rule and the wedges and putter delivered - coarse management at its finer moments.

Day 213 - Had a team match today, we lost 2&1. I wasn’t putting or striking the ball particularly well, but still fairly happy with my score. Hip is killing me, so I need to figure that out.

HackMotion work… without hitting a ball. But it'll still detect a downswing. 🙂

Worked on backswing piece. Sticking to that for now so I don’t have multiple swing thiughts/feels during my round.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
