"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 299 - I’ve played 54 holes in 3 days, and I’d say it’s been  success. Elbow feels good, game has been decent. Need to fix the grip when shots start leaking to the right.

Day 191 (09 Nov 24) - After band rehearsal and afternoon yard work, broke out the 8i and hard foam balls to work on low pitches.  Main emphasis was on foot (especially the lead) position, hip rotation and ball position.  Spent time between each shot reflecting on the results of the previous swing. Making small adjustments as needed.

Worked on putting before Junior Elite this morning. Woke up too early.

Day 300 - Wailea Gold was an awesome course. A couple blowups cost me an otherwise good round. Happier with the ball striking, putting wasn’t great.

Day 116: played 18 holes.

Day 192 (10 Nov 24) - An easy afternoon session in the backyard with the 50deg wedge working on varied wedge shots.  Focused on engaging the bounce, different ball positions and setup alignment.

Day 301 - Putting at Wailea Blue was awful. It took me about 9 holes to adjust to the fast greens. Ball striking wasn’t great, but improved during the second round of the day. 
 

I won’t skip the putting warm-up tomorrow.

Day 42 - 2024-11-11

Played 18. "I put more details in when I play better." - Deadman Dan.

I hit some saucy low spinners. Left some burn marks on a few of the greens.

Day 193 (11 Nov 24) - Got a few swings in with the 7i using hard foam balls in the backyard before the rain came in.  Focused on priority pieces - setup, weight transfer, getting good rotation.  Good albeit short session.

Day 302 - Played my best golf at Wailea Emerald, so naturally it’s my favorite of the three courses. 

Played 36, driver was fantastic. Ball striking felt worse than it was. Putting was much improved.

Day 194 (12 Nov 24) - Broke out the 58deg LW today - working thru different shot types.  Started with lobs over the tulip tree in the backyard (hitting about 25yds)replicating shots over hazards like bunkers; mid height shots over the pool to replicate basic pitches onto the green and low spinners to replicate those short hop and stop shots.  Always like working each wedge in these scenarios to allow greater flexibility within the bag.

Day 53 - 2024-11-12

Played 18 at Southern Pines today with @Hardspoon, @DeadMan, and @NCGolfer.

Thumb is… not great. Not horrible, but not great.

Day 118: played 18. Driver is all over the place - hopefully mostly an alignment that @iacas saw. Irons and short game were okay. Putted meh.

Day 195 (13 Nov 24) - Easy day with 7i, focused on the setup, alignment = pre-shot routine.  Hit about a dozen hard foam balls from varied lies (thanks to neighbors that don’t mind me hitting from their yards and adjoining ditch banks (we’re talking relatively flat banks)).  It really allows me to replicate what I see on the course in terms of ball on upslope, downslope, below the feet, above the feet, etc.

Day 119: played 18. Played the back really well after I got @iacas’s advice through my thick skull. Fun round, fun trip, fun company.
