Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.

Taylormade SLDR 5i thru PW graphite shaft R flex
Cleveland CBX wedges - 50, 54, 58 or 52, 58 (depending on my mood)

Day 216 (4 Dec 24) - Dink and roll Weds - working on the green side short game covering 5-10 yd chips to low running pitches to about 50 yds (I have accommodating neighbors).  Focused on keeping stance more narrow, eye target about 2” in front of the ball AND not looking up until I see the ball leave.  This drill has really enhanced my confidence in making more consistent ball strikes.

Day 1:

After a long practice layoff due to injury, vacation, winter darkness, and work stuff, I'm trying to start back up again.

Today I just hit balls with keys from my lesson 6-ish weeks ago; neutral grip and centered turn. Gonna work with that for a few weeks, see how it goes, and then get a lesson scheduled.

Day 217 (5 Dec 24) - Thurs 9-hole round with my good friend.  Weather is in the upper 50’s. - so the body was a little more limber.  Played the next tees up with the TA 845s Silver Scots (3i-SW) along with TM R580 driver and 5w.  Shot a very solid 39 (3 bogies that should have been pars).  Solid round of better ball striking - man those 845s still have it…IMG_8560.thumb.jpeg.37d8f38dc8e125c1db189a0870176a65.jpeg

Day 2:

Evacuated work due to Tsunami warning in coastal California, which turned out to be a nothingburger. But silver lining was I worked from home for half a day, and was able to practice in full daylight.

Same work as yesterday; neutral grip, centered turn. Also made effort to get weight more forward with a teensy hip slide-y feel.

Day 141: range session at lunch. Just worked on aligning to my target - feeling like my stance is slightly open (meaning it’s square) and feeling like I’m aimed well left of the target.

Day 218 (6 Dec 24) - 34deg, N-NE wind 5-10mph at 10am- the Friday men’s tee time slot…. just one other guy in the Friday group showed up.  We play anyway and while not the best scoring round by any means, we had a blast.  Good session on course management in less than ideal weather - was hitting a little shorter so it was all about wedge play and adjusting for wind on the greens while putting.

More of the same; neutral grip, centered turn. Short session because it was basically dark, and used a 4-iron.

Day 326 - Shorter session today, as the hip pain was more bothersome. Mostly spent the time making partial backswings, focusing on a good follow-thru.

      Question About UK vs. U.S. Course Etiquette

      The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
