Day 24 (14 Feb 25) - Played with the l Friday men’s group (only 7 of us today - temps in the low 40’s to start and N-NW winds gusting to 10-15 mph).  It was course management front and center type of day.  Had ample opportunities to work from some tough lies, etc.  Overall an okay round -  the bigger struggle was with the putter (several three putts and one four - ugggly offset by one terrific 60’ putt for birdie).  Spent some time after the round chipping on the practice green.

Day 210: did mirror work while watching a movie. Working on earlier wrist hinge in the backswing. Seems like I need to feel it almost on the takeaway for it to work.

Day 138 - 2025-02-15

Stayed after Junior Elite for 90 minutes. Almost exclusively downswing stuff at various speeds. At high speeds I'm consistently 1-2° right. At slower speeds, 6° out if I exaggerate it a little. (Slower speeds for me are 70 MPH 6Is).

Day 25 (15 Feb 25) - A little background on today’s drill session.  On the way to band rehearsal this morning I was listening to the guys on PGA Tour radio in the golf school segment and they got to talking about short game practice.  As I love working that part of the game, my ears perked up.  They were talking taking multiple clubs and doing pitches/chips from the same distance and learning how each flies the ball.  So today was the start of the 8P54 drill (8i - Pw - 54°). IMG_8679.thumb.jpeg.3731a69f5e2f86b69d3392245e0fa484.jpeg  Set it up to hit two balls with each club from the same lie to a set distance.  It really helps envision what I should see in each club.  A sweet new twist to a fave drill.

Spent several 5-10 minutes sessions today working on what I learned from Yoda yesterday. Pretty much a new priority piece. 

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Day 211: putting work today on my mat. Worked on some feels to get my head to move less. Contact was improving.

Day 26 (16 Feb 25) - Basically a repeat of yesterday- only it was a bit more expanded chips/pitches - 7i, 9i, 50° and 58°.   Big exception was I was hitting groups of 5 one club at a time.  Focused on a specific target point - and coming smoothly through the ball, not punchy.  Got it right about 3 out of 5 - more work needed.

Day 139 - 2025-02-16

Weather led to a rescheduled GEARS lesson, so I used the time to work on my swing for 60 minutes or so. All downswing stuff. Some swings at 93 MPH. Most around 75-80.

Day 140 - 2025-02-17

Got to GE pretty early. Few lessons and then a GEARS visit with a guy. Pelvis work, go figure. Put down two mats later with a carpet stay thing, and hit some balls before heading home.

Day 27 (17 Feb 25) - Some time with the putter this morning - worked on distance control.  Followed up with some work with the hybrids into the net in the backyard.  Best part of the day - grand kiddos are in from Mass this week and we’re at the house this afternoon.  Got to work with both of them on some basic golf stuff.  It is was a priceless afternoon

      Question About UK vs. U.S. Course Etiquette

      The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO

      Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
