"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 29  (6 Apr 26) - Snuck  a few balls with the 6i while waiting for the local school tournament golf match to start.  Worked on tempo - starting with 1/2 swings working to full while working the ball slightly from side to side.

Day 9: did a stack session. Worked on some slow mapping swings during rest breaks.

Day 231 4-7

Still going slower with the swing. Hips/chest in the backswing and then worked on wrist arch in the downswing. Just looks like im still missing something. Hit foam balls.

Day 30 (7 Apr 26) - Worked on takeaway thru finish focused on abbreviated start and finish - hitting balls about 55yds w/9i, Pw and 50° - getting the feel of finishing smoothly on lead foot.

Mirror work after getting back home again.

Day 10: range day for the first time in a while. Filmed a bunch. Going faster isn’t looking great to me, but that’s okay. Also filmed my full swing in the first time for a while. Need to be more vertical in the backswing. Otherwise, fine. Solid work though.

Day 31 (8 Apr 26) - Worked with a coupe of kids on the school golf team on the range - then joined them for a few holes of practice play.

Day 232 4-8

Rotation work tonight. Used just a mirror for the most part. Recorded a few swings just to see where I am.

Day 554 - 2026-04-08

Got some Skillest lessons done and had some time to hit some balls before a bunch of the rest of the day piled up.

Day 32 (9 Apr 26) - Grandson is on spring break- puts in to play 9 at our home course.  Used it to work on top of horizon target point for drives and approaches…i.e. pick landing zone (fairway, green) , an intermediate target point and finally what standout feature do I want to hit “over” on the horizon (tall pine, home top, flag pole).    Better l-r dispersion w/5 of 7 drives in the short grass.  Nice little addition to the pre-shot routine.

Comment:  Huh, I practiced regularly until 1/31, got busy in Feb-Mar (as I knew I would), and got reinspired today.  I have done some intermittent practice in the past two months, but let's get back on the daily practice wagon.

Day 1, April 9 2026.  I worked on some pelvis turn limiting drills, doing one for several iterations before context switching to hit a few balls slowly (trying to retain that feeling), and repeating.

Day 233 4-9

flow drill while focusing on better hip/chest rotation. Used mirror.

Day 555 - 2026-04-09

Played 17 holes (we skipped 6 to pass a group letting us through). Hit more good shots than I was expecting. 😄

Day 12: did a stack session. Worked on slow swings in between sets - getting hands higher in the backswing.

Day 556 - 2026-04-10

Played another 17 holes, this time skipping #11 to pass a group that was still on 14 when we were finishing up. 😛 Not as good as yesterday, but more distracted by the mind's eye.

Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.

Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.

Day 234 4-10

Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
