"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 79: played 18. Shot a +5 76. Iron play was much better - 11 GIR. Hit a drive 380. Normal day.

Day 620 - 2026-06-14

Got some work in before and after lessons. Definitely didn't adduct my arms 130° in doing so.

Day 41, June 14.  I spent 10 minutes, half hitting W half hitting 6-iron, practice shots (indoors, off a mat, into a net)

Day 42, June 15.  Played 18 today.  Shot 86, no birdies.  Played the par-3s in +2 and par-5s in +1 (there are only three).  Played the 11 par-4s in a total of +12, three triples and only two pars.  One of those triples was a 4-putt (in my defense, it started at the collar, it's a very long par-4 that required driver 4-wood, and the first putt was from 66').  

I haven't calculated strokes gained yet for the round and I'm very very curious.

Day 286 6-15

low point control using towel on the ground. Making a bit of progress there.  No ball. Worked on lowering arm, hit foam balls. Recorded

Day 80: did about 10 minutes of mirror work while taking a work break. Working on slowing things down to really get these feels down. Need to feel like that front shoulder gets really low.

Day 287 6-16

Full, fast swings with controlling low point. Did ok just wasnt feeling it tonight. Recorded swing, no ball.

Played 16 holes. We skipped 10 and 11. Backswing is good.

Day 43, June 16.  Hit two dozen balls today (two sessions of a dozen each).  Exaggerating even more the process of shortening my backswing.

Day 81: more mirror work after a crazy hectic day. Checking lower body movement in backswing and then working on roll and twist and shoulder stuff.

Day 1 (17 Jun 26) - Starting the post over - even though I have not missed any days as I’m working as a volunteer instructor at the Jr Golf Camp primarily in short game area (putting/pitching/sand) - Monday - putting stroke and distance control; Tuesday - chipping from off the green with less than wedge (7-9 irons); Today - getting out of bunkers (focusing on splashing the sand underneath the ball) - been a full three days.

Day 288 6-17

Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.

Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back)

(aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)

Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
