Day 70 10-23

Had time for a short practice session this AM. Worked on flow, 1/4 swings, hit foam balls.  Over lunch did another small practice session, focus on shifting correctly and hips no balls, just swinging a weighted object, recorded dtl.

Day 48 (October 23).  Fifteen minutes of full swing practice after work and before heading out for the evening.  I don't think the picture is changing -- when I check in a mirror, I'm able to limit the backswing, but then I go to hit a ball, it feels like I'm limiting the backswing, but on video I'm past parallel.

Missed October 22.  First miss in this window.

Day 51 (23 Oct 25) - Weekly nine hole session - good day of working on clubbing up as the ball was about 1 to 1-1/2 clubs short all day.  On the positive side - ball striking was dead on as I had great lines into the greens.  Even managed several solid up and down pars.

Day 71 10-24

worked on flow drill and better hip movement. Hit balls outside into the net.

24 Oct - Friday shootout as usual - play was decently solid.  Setup tweaks I’ve been working on look to be paying with more consistent shot shapes and better dispersion.  Best part was I was partnered with one of the club’s better players - picked up some solid pointers working thru shot options in the course of the round.

Day 389 - 2025-10-24

Played 18 holes at Blowing Rock CC. It's a Seth Raynor course, but… there isn't much Raynor left. It was 40° at tee off time (90 minute frost delay) and blowing about 30.

Day 49 (October 24).  Was too tired after work to do more than a few minutes putting drills, but I did do those.

Flow drill but focused on backswing and then getting to lead side. Rainy and cold, checked form in mirror, hit a few foam balls.

Day 53 (25 Oct 25) - Solo nine hole session - setup: D, 5i-Pw, Gw, Sw, Lw and P; from the tips (two tees back from where I normally play), walking (not that it matters) and TBWB (two ball - worst ball) format.  Goal was simple - play worse of the outcomes of the two shots taken, all the way thru holing out. This really hurts when you have a putt for par and make the 1st ball but miss with the 2nd…have to putt out the miss.  Yes, the potential for dbl or worse is real - but I like the extra challenge it places on staying in the moment, making the most of shot opportunities and acceptance of the consequences of miscues.

Hit some balls lightly trying to feel the backswing and the downswing downtown. It's in there. I just won't do it at speed all the time. 😄
