Day 100 - 2025-01-08

Hit balls for twenty minutes before I put Natalie through an Operation 36 at 200 yards without benefit of a driver. And putting on a sim is always a bit wonky.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 29: 1/8/2025

Worked on my priority piece in the mirror several times today. I've gone back to having a 7 iron and a mirror right outside my office. Every time I enter or leave I can get a couple of minutes of work on the swing.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 249 (8 Jan 25) - A very brisk day temps wise here in NC.  Opted to make some swings with the mid-irons - was stiff and it showed with hard push-slices.  As I loosened up, the shots came around to what I am used to seeing.  Wrapped up session with easy bump and runs with the 6 and 7 irons…

Day 30: 1/9/2025

Great day to go to the range on lunch. I had spent time off on all morning working on my Priority piece. I have a spare 7 iron right outside my office with a mirror for me to practice when I go in or out of my office. The range was nice, at one point I was the only customer there. Anyway, mixed results again, but I think its starting to come together. I'll have to grab more film first chance I get and send it to Yoda.

Day 250 (9 Jan 25) - Had planned to play a very chilled (temps around 30, wind chill to low 20’s) nine with my good friend.  He bowed out - so it was more easy hitting in the backyard today.  Did manage some solid swings with the 6i - by taking advantage of the old railroad bed (still mowed and maintained by folks in the neighborhood).  Add that to some solid pitch work with the wedges off the frozen ground.

Day 176: got fitted for new irons. Got tired pretty quick, so wasn’t the best session. Have a decent candidate, but going to need to come back for more time.

Day 251 (10 Jan 25) - Was hoping the Friday group would play today, but it was a not go (I was a lone ranger).  Of course temps around 30 with some wind chill - so it was not a fair weather day.  Since I was going out solo - decided to play one of my faves - play from a different tee on each hole.  To keep it simple, I started from the tips (blue) and worked progressively through the tees - whites on 2, gold on 3, red on 4, grey on 5, back to blue on 6, etc.  Really changes how you work the approach game as I tend to play from the golds most days.  1st learning moment - fairways were firm and greens like industrial carpet on concrete.  So hunting pins was out - it was a day scrubbing speed with hitting a little short to let the ball scrub and roll out.  2nd learning moment - body is not as flexible so I had plenty of push slices, so the left side stayed pretty much out of play.  3rd learning moment - course played about 2 clubs longer, which was expected which meant more bogies and birdie looks were few and far in between.  Still managed an 86, so it was a good day for a practice round of a different kind.

Day 31: 1/10/2025

Not much time today. I did get at least 5 minutes in though because of the 7 iron outside my office door. Every time I went in or out I got a minute or two of mirror work in.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.
