Day 1 (21 Jan 25) - Managed some swings in the backyard with 6&7 irons before the snow was to come in.  Usual drills - pre-shot setup, stance, ball positioning…

(Starting over - yesterday’s post did not load, and I have had another missed post in the last month…)

Day 42: 1/22/2025

Did my usual mirror work with a 7 iron today. But I also get in some chipping practice in the basement. Hitting my 60 degree and my 54 to a couple of different targets. Looking forward to hitting some balls again as soon.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 2 (22 Jan 25) - Had planned to maybe roll some putts as we get 5-7” of snow last night.  Then the grandson puts into hit some foam balls in the snow - small carpet for a temp tee box, soft foam balls and a wedge and we’re off.  Those were the easy swings - playing a foam ball “in the snow” was major fried egg splash out city….great fun and challenge..IMG_8661.thumb.jpeg.53066e749f361693bb8b66f5bbd24e1e.jpeg

Made it to the range today for about an hour.
I hit balls working on my PPJ swing thought and my hip movements.

Did a bit of mirror work both in the AM and just now.

Day 3 (23 Jan 25) - Repeat of yesterday’s work per request of the grandson…more pitches and chips in the snow.  The snow had crusted slightly, so we got to hit off tight lies as well as fried egg lies. Love teaching him how to work thru and overcome less than optimal conditions.

Day 22 - More mirror work. In-laws in town, too much housework and babysitting to allow for range time. Perhaps tomorrow...

The repetition (wall, mirror) seems to be working though.

Day 23 - 25 minutes of focused range work. After warmups repeated:

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
