Day 9 (September 13) Today was a day like Thursday.  I went to the practice facility in the afternoon;  I did some chipping at distances I was comfortable with, getting more comfortable hitting chip shots with the grip change.  I then went to the range, alternating between a drill from Skillest and hitting 3-4 balls (with all that entails).  This was 6-iron and some wedges;  I hit my wedges surprisingly (to me) solid, something I don't usually do with full swings lately.

After about two dozen range balls, I stopped and went to putt.  I did an "around the clock" drill from 4', and was optimistic after Thursday's success from 3', but I wasn't quite ready to stay until I made 12 in a row.  Instead, after hitting a few, I set down the 12 coins heads-up and did my usual variant of the drill [1], taking 34 putts to complete, although only four coins were still on the surface after the second go-around (meaning, at eight stations, I made both putts).  Sadly, 1:00 and 2:00 were still heads-up at that time.   Not ideal, but not a poor showing, and a 70% make rate from 4' is marginally better than a bogey golfer.

Then I went back to the range and hit the remaining dozen balls, same as before, but now it was 6-iron, 3H, a few 4W, and of course some drives.

All in all, including going to the fountain to refill my water bottle several times, this was about two hours.

Lastly, I ended up at the gym later.  I forget if gym time when golf is a focus is meant as practice for the day, and of course I already did a lot of golf practice today, but I was able to use a medicine ball at the gym today to do a different drill from Skillest.

Okay, that's today's entry!

[1] I putt from each, in order, just like the around the clock drill.  If I make it, and the coin was heads-up, I turn it over.  If it was tails-up, I pick it up.  I continue until I've picked up all 12, thus making 24 putts.   I would like to eventually be able to do a classic around-the-clock from 4' successfully.

Side note:  yes, I spent more time putting, proportionately, than I should (15% or so), today and lately.  Putting inside 10' is a weakness of mine;  not enough to devote everything to, as I want to improve long-term too and I don't have any really important rounds coming up, but enough that I'd like to put some energy towards fixing it.

Flow drill with 1/2 swings and full swings. Hit real balls.  Still really trying to let momentum do some of the work and not force myself into positions.

Day 13 (14 Sept 25) - In MB for a week of golf starting tomorrow.  One of the guys had his putting mat out, so I got roll some putts and work on tempo a bit.  Even putted some lefty as one of the guys plays lefty.  A good challenge to practice from the other side of the ball.

Day 10 (September 14).  My semi-around the world at 4', the version I described yesterday.  It took me 31 putts to sink 24 putts;  no station took more than four attempts to sink both (and 6/12 I had picked up the coin before the third go-around).  31 putts is an incredibly good score for this, which reminds me that putting is volatile.

Context:  I didn't have the time nor energy to do a full swing practice today;  I stopped at a course that had a nice practice putting green on my way home from watching today's Cardinals game.

Played about 14 holes with @DrizZzY. Finished well with the good feels. Early holes weren't great. Have to trust the move. Need to do more so I can trust the move.

Day 17: working on putting for about 10 minutes. Focused on putts inside of 10’. Did a 3-2-1 drill from 3, 6 and 9 feet in 8 minutes. Need to think about handle being higher. Other than that, solid.

Day 32 9-15

Worked on "flow' drill. Focused on taking club away with chest, and some hip movement( not moving towards the ball in backswing, moving hip better in downswing). Hit a few foam balls. Mostly air swings.

Day 11 (September 15).  For various reasons, I decided to putt again today (although I did still do the medicine ball drill from my recent Skillest lesson).  4', 24 putts around a circle (one circle, twice).  It took me 38 putts, which isn't ideal, but hey, variance.  Also, I had a lot more break than I did yesterday.  In fact, 1:00 (where 12:00 is the "straight downhill" putt) took me 6 tries to even make once, and 9 tries overall.  So if we discount it, I went 22-for-29, which would be really good.

After the drill, I did some putting from various distances (6', 12', 30') that I wanted to just hit a few for.

Day 12 (September 16).  This morning, range for two;  did some chipping, my full swing routine (see above) for about a dozen balls at the range, and some 6' putts.  Mostly was focused on helping someone I went with, but I made a point to take some time for me.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
