Day 33 9-16

Hit foam balls today,  focus was on feeling momentum and "flow". Not full swings or full speed. Going to keep hammering on this for awhile.

Day 34 9-17

Very similar practice to last night. Did speed things up a bit with "flow" drill and incorporated a little more lead hip back/rotation in downswing.  Hit foam balls, focused more on downswing tonight. Recorded most swings.

Day 13 (September 17).  Due to time and temperature constraints, all I really have for today was putting.  However, after how great I felt yesterday -- the first round in ages where I felt like I knew what I was doing on the green also (I still felt I knew what I was doing almost everywhere else, which is normal for me;  baked bunkers excepted), this didn't seem to bad.  Just the same, I can't wait until I'm home and can practice full swing a lot more.

Today I set up my "make each station twice" drill at 6'.  It took me 56 total putts to sink all 24;  I didn't know how to feel about that until I looked it up in ESC (yes, I took my copy of that with me on vacation, why do you ask?).  A typical bogey golfer would be expected to take 61.5 on that (using on-course numbers, which isn't strictly fair), while a scratch player would be expected to take 43.6.  This all reminds me how small the differences in putting skill among abilities are (and why it shouldn't be as big a part of my practice as it has been lately, although in fairness, my putting inside 10' is a weakness, maybe even a glaring one).

Worked on chipping with a student, then made a few swings after he left (six hour lesson 😄).

Day 16 (17 Sep 25) - Day 3 of MB trip…18hole round…some tough recovery position play…managed to get equal up and downs to GiR…4 apiece.  Greens more like I’ve been seen in speed around 8.5…putter more predictable.

Day 19: long day, so just did some mirror work. Back to working on wrist feels. I want to feel the twist early - basically in the backswing.

Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.

Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more.

Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.

Played about 16 holes today (we skipped 2 and 3 because I'd left my phone on 16 tee box, and we had started on 10).

Day 1: Good range session tonight. Haven’t had too many range sessions but tonight I really felt like my old swing when i was playing frequently. Spoke to a long driver who could hit irons through the back of the range! Impressive!

Day 17 (18 Sep 25) - Day 4 of 7 courses/7 days in MB…today was the 1st official day of this year’s event.  Approach game about normal as well as off the tee….but putting was tough, greens were very variable in speed - had some great reads, just never got the pace dialed in. Wound up with 8 three putts…not good for scoring.  On the plus side - seeing some great courses and getting some serious work on pre-shot planning along with general course management.

Day 18 (19 Sep 25) - Day 5 of 7 courses/7 days…today the Thistle.  A much more solid day with a 38 front nine (7pars, 2 bogies).  Back fell off with a 46 for a total of 84.  Big day of proper shot selection and good execution = course management.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
