"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 18 (September 22).  I understand the two club drill better, and was alternating that and hitting a few smooth 6-iron shots;  indoors, off a mat, into the net.  I spent about 20 minutes on this thus far tonight.

Day 2: Worked on distance wedge swing feels. The feel for me is to keep the upper body down more while straightening the lead leg.

Day 23: chipped in the garage with foam balls. Focused on crisp contact. Did mostly lower chips but mixed in some higher ones. Slightly more open stance, plus ball more toward middle, plus higher handle led to the best results. Need to keep those 3 things in mind.

Day 19 (September 23).  I did SpeedSticks this morning before gym (abbreviated form:  RH only, 3x light, 3x med, 3x heavy, then 3x light again).  If I've done them in the past 37 months, I didn't record it.   The median of the final set of 3x light was 111 mph, nice.  

On the opposite side of things, this afternoon after I got home, I spent 30 minutes hitting balls in my practice bay;  two club drill, then slow rehearsals, then a smooth swing to hit a real ball (off the mat, into the net).

Day 22 - (23 Sep 25) - Church men’s golf canceled due well needed rain…was able to get in some late afternoon wedge pitches in the backyard with the grandson.  In fact we got into a couple “closest to the target sessions” - have to say, the kid is good for a 9yr old…good session on working with set up…

Flow drill with a focus on head not moving back towards trail side. Hit foam balls, half swings.

Day 358 - 2025-09-23

Hit 60 balls, measuring most on the Swing Coach app and messing around with it. When they add face-on views, swing length will be a big deal…

Day 1: 9/23/25

Chipping Mayo style. Made 4 using 3-balls per station over 36 minutes to 4 holes. Great contact when I did it right, but still hit a few chunky ones.

Day 41 Day 24

Practiced keeping head from moving to trail side in backswing. Incorporated some flow drill. Hit foam balls. 1/2 swings

Day 359 - 2025-09-24

Got some more work done with the Swing Coach app. Backswing length, but otherwise backswing is okay. Downswing continues to be the main deal.

Day 24: back to mirror work today. Checking posture and grip. Then continuing to work on wrist feels.

Day 20 (September 24).  After work today, I had time for a dozen balls (with rehearsals, and the two-club drill;  as I type this, it dawns on me I should've added a medicine ball drill in there) of practice at home (indoors, off a mat, into the net).  It was primarily my 6-iron, but the last two were a hybrid I'm re-introducing into my bag next time I play (although the two-club was still two irons).

Day 1: Hit putts of varying lengths with the metronome. Worked on tempo and getting consistent backswing and through swing lengths.

Day 24 (25 Sep 25) - Weekly 9-hole round with my friends - stress free 40 incl a birdie on the #1 hole.  Had a blast just working thru the shot process and seeing “predictable” execution - yes, women greens were missed, putts rolled past - but no penalties or lost balls…

Played 14 holes. Short, cupped… eh. I'm just biding my time until the winter.

Day 24: short range session. Checked set up and alignment. Focused on longer clubs. Contact was decent, although slightly off the heel with driver. Overall, pretty satisfied but a little worse than usual.
