Hello everyone !

34 years of age, new to golf, and looking to go Pro here in the next few years.

LOL

But seriously, new to the game of golf, although have watched it for years on tv. Am an ex-athlete, so am looking for a newer challenge. And uhhh ... yeah ... definitely have found it in golf lol. Really, REALLY respect and admire the Pros, as well as many of you who have, more or less, nailed this game down.

With that being said, thank you for having me.

Welcome to the Sand Trap.  This is quite a place of information and help if you want it.  Plus, there are fellow golfers you can meet in the mid-Michigan area if you'd like.

P.S.  I don't qualify as a great source of information and help about the golf swing.

Nailed the game down, that's a funny one. Sometimes I think I am in the coffin, and the game is nailing me down. lol

At any rate, welcome to the site. You can learn alot about the game here. :tumble:

    • Day 29 (31 Dec 25) - played a casual year-end 18 with a couple of friends.
    • Day 457 - 2025-12-31 Stayed after some GEARS Hybrid stuff with my senior girls and got some work in. Also, kicked Tegan's butt at a chipping contest with a wedge that has a lousy toe profile.
    • Day 141 12-31 Reconnecting arm and club face work. Making sure left wrist is arched only on the downswing. Not doing full swings, im pausing at the top and will do a few rehearsals.  Hit a few real balls  after, and had some curve way left.
    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭
    • I've been Playing Golf for: 40 yrs My current handicap index or average score is: 4.0 factor My typical ball flight is: Straight however sometimes slight draw. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn.
