Was reading this piece on SLIG (single length irons guy) and he said he used Flightscope to take readings out of the rough to help judge jumpers. Does rough, or very thick rough hinder its readings? Does it need does stickers if so? Does the same hold for the Mevo?

Quote

“My caddy Tim and I did a lot of rough work before. We knew it was gonna be a difficult golf course if you didn’t hit the fairway, so we tried to prepare Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...we use FlightScope to see how far the ball is actually going out of those types of lies and were just testing different lies in the rough. ‘Oh that’s a 20 yard jumper, ok that’s what that looks like. It’s deep down in the rough, it feels thick so it’s not gonna come out.’ So it was just being able to judge those lies and leave myself at the proper place on the green this week.”

The lie isn't that important. FlightScope will track the ball. It might be a little off on when impact occurred, but it'll track the ball and certainly tell you how far it went, etc. It may not get some of the impact data exactly right, is all.

I figure ball speed is ball speed, and spin is spin. Once the ball emerges from the grass, if the system is capable of picking up those things, it should tell you what the ball would do.
