Just swapped out my old i15s for G700s (older, slower swing speed, need a little more help hitting it higher, etc.).

Set up is as follows (I've always played 13 clubs - I like fewer options, and frankly can't stand wrestling clubs out of my carry bag):

G400 10 deg LST Driver
G400 3wd
G400 19 deg Hybrid

G700 4-W

Glide2 Wedges 50 and 56

Trusty 20 year old Pal2 putter

Love em so far with one exception:  The lofts are all goosed and now I'm hitting the W about 125.  I've avoided carrying a U wedge for years now, and instead went the Glide2s in 50 degrees and 56.  But on the range yesterday the 50 is going only about 100-105 which is a pretty big gap

So, I'm thinking the ideal set up might be add the U and hit it 115ish,  switch the Glide2s to 54 and 60, and either dump the 4 iron (maybe switch to the 22 deg hybrid in the process), or, finally, carry 14.

Input appreciated.

With my G-400s, I eventually ended up with the U wedge and the 50 degree, which I use for different shots.  50 degree I hit about 85 on a full swing and 75 on a 3/4.  U-wedge-iron I think I'm at about 100, but I rarely hit it (I also only got it about a month ago).

I also debated moving to a 52 or even 54, if I get a 54 I'd also go to a 58 instead of the 56 ... so many decisions.

In the old set I had an i15 W, and then whatever their old equivalent of the Glides were in 52 and 58, and I hit the 52 a lot around the greens.

If I go U wedge in the G700s it's purely a full shot club IMO - those are too big and unwieldy for finesses shots around the green.

So while the lofts would suggest adding the U and then moving to 54 and 60 wedges, a 54 around the greens is a different kind of club for me and less versatile on tight lies.

Which would suggest U, 52 and 58.  I guess.

No, go U wedge , 54 and 60.   The u wedge is 50 degrees.  Even look at maybe a 56 instead of a 60...that's the set up I have and like it.

I had the Glide wedges for a short time and found what u did...they go nowhere...but straight up.

I had my u wedge going 120...plan was to have my 56 go 110 and 60 to go 100.  The Glides were awful...they went 95 and 85.

I ended up with Callaway pm grind 56 and 60.

Something to look at too is shaft weight in the wedges.  The stock shafts are 120+ grams in a lot of cases.  My " set" clubs including my U wedge were 105 grams.  I had the Callys reshafted.
