This week i started to fade the ball for some odd reason causing me to only go 3 under my handicap in the last competition i played when i know at the way i was playing last week i would of shot 10 under my handicap. Was wondering if i have fixed this or if anyone sees anything that could be a potential problem.

I've been Playing Golf for: 3 - 4 years
My current handicap index or average score is: 21 Handicap
My typical ball flight is: High
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Very recently i have been fading the ball however i watched a couple videos on youtube and seem to have fixed it.?

Only suggestion I have is weight transfer to left foot.
The weight should be 75-90% on your left foot when you finish.
It appears you post to your left heel, need more on entire foot.
Many finish to the outside of left foot with 80-90% weight distributed.

Swing looks good, good luck.

Are your fades more of a pull fade? Do you often pull your ball left of your target? You look a little steep or OTT. I have struggled with the same thing so just curious.

Sometimes mate, more with the driver though. It only really pull fades when i aim left 😛

You appear to be casting or coming over the top, your swing path is definitely out to in as you connect with the ball. That imparts the sidespin on the ball which causes it to fade or slice. Work on keeping your right elbow tucked in to your side on the downswing, this will eliminate the out to in swing path. Good luck.

Can we get a caddie view of the swing too?  I don't know if your range permits it... one of the courses I play regularly has solid wood walls between each mat, so it isn't possible to set up a CV shot there.  Some other courses it's very easy to do.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
