My wife plays in a women's league. Some of the things she tells me about what they say is in the rules. I asked her the other night for her favorite one, which was:

You can't take relief under the water hazard rule unless:

  • The ball ended up in actual water in the water hazard.
  • If the ball is not in actual water, you must find the ball, even if the ball is clearly somewhere in the water hazard.

I think she's told me ones much worse than that (because at least that probably was just a misunderstanding of what virtual certainty is), but she thought that was hilarious because it negates the point of having lines defining water hazards.
