I'm not so crazy on how the categories are organized. Slack is a mix of productivity and social if you use it for work and personal. I do like the app limits feature though.

MOST of the time I'm on The Sand Trap I'm on one of my computers, and most of the time I'm reading DK it's in the morning or when I'm away from the computer. Computers mostly still = work.

Also, my use of social media is almost all "business."

Also, the wife and kid were off on Friday and Monday so my usage was a little higher this week than most weeks.

I’ve seen up to 9 hours so we’re probably on the low side. Usually a good portion is social media.

I find Instagram is a bit of a gold mine in terms of golf instruction. Whereas in 2005-2015 it was all YouTube, now it is all moved to Instagram. It is still too many good athletes making beautiful swings (which has absolutely nothing to do with me, as I am neither), but occasionally I find a few good drills for something I was trying to figure out how to do. Like YouTube you still need a filter to forget 90% of what you see, but 5-10% is useful.

Ultimately it is still wasting time. That is the main reason I eliminated Twitter. I was just wasting time. I'd rather put that time into a book.

The other interesting thing is when I would read email on my BlackBerry I would find myself able to reply much easier. My typing is much slower on the the iPhone than when I was using the BlackBerry. I have been toying with the idea of using two phones. One for work emails and one for personal stuff. I haven't figured out the best solution, but I now need to pop open the laptop when I want to write an email of more than a couple of sentences.

I use Screentime to limit social media to 1.5 hours/day which makes me use it more sparingly.

I am addicted to information but I’m not nearly as bad as digital natives, the youngs. With the ubiquity of high quality video, social media lets you go to places in an instant, see live music, new places, food, events, hard to keep away.

Also, I noticed some instructors are posting more before and after vids, some with explanations of the changes.

I think it was through social media I found out about MirrorVision so quickly.

I have to admit, following Instagram Stories lately, it has been cool following the people at the PGA Show. It's the closest thing I'm going to get to actually going there. There is a lot of video this time.

    • What precedent? You keep saying this but you haven’t cited examples of where a rival league won a suit against a major league for anti-trust in the US. Name the sport, the leagues involved and cite the lawsuit. Right now your devils advocacy seems just like arguing for argument sake. But you haven’t provided any concrete facts just your disdain for the PGAT.
    • We've got LIV vs PGA Tour match play on right now and its getting intense
    • Lol I'm not even going to argue with someone who asks about another's profession as some weird condescending ego stroke. Its incredibly clear that there is prior precedent for sports leagues and anti trust violations in this exact type of situation. The density it takes to be this sure of yourself about the righteousness of the PGA Tour here is incredible. Its not black and white.
    • Day 26: 8/12/2022 I got some really good practice in today. Went to the range. Hit about 50 balls with my 6-iron. (Block Practice) How I did it was 5 balls at a time. Focusing entirely on one of three things.  Five balls focusing on a movement I'm trying to get right with my hips. Slow mo first. A little faster second. Then do it full speed with no ball. Then full speed with a ball.  The next five balls. Focused on a move I'm trying to get right in my backswing. Again, slow mo, a little faster, full speed no ball, and then full speed with a ball.  The next five balls. Focused on my hand path. Same as above. Slow mo, a little faster, full speed, then hit a ball.  Rinse and repeat.  Then I hit ten balls with the driver. I'm trying to improve my driver consistency. So, what I did was focus on a pre-shot routine and my set up. Tried to hit all 10 into an imaginary fairway.  Then I went over to the putting green and after warming up I did @iacas's "Makeable Putts Game". I scored 13 points... Not sure if that's good or bad. But I know I can do better.  Lastly, since I also want to improve my wedge play, I went over to the short game area and hit 36 different pitch shots from about 20 to about 70 yards. (Random Practice?)  I really wish I had time every day to do the practice I did today. I feel like everything I worked on are important things that can help me improve.
